I needed a pre-purchase inspection for a used car I wanted to buy, which the dealer seemed to have indicated was in good condition and had been checked and worked on (a timing belt was replaced). Sholar automotive inspected the car in one hour that afternoon, same day appointment, and found it needed 3k in work! The valve cover and side cam phaser were leaking, the control arm bushings were cracked/ripped and needed to be replaced, the brake rotors were rusted and heat damaged, the wiper blades were broken (so it wouldnt even pass safety), a whole list of problems. They saved me from a very terrible purchase!

I recently went to scholar with my 2010 toyota rav4 with a check engine light fir an o2 sensor.(read the code with my own reader) Although the staff was friendly, and got to work on my vehicle quickly they way over priced me. The sensor was only abot $115. Well they recommended replacing the other sensor which is just on the exhaust manifold for $1000! Thats right 1k for o2 sensors. I had them do the bad sensor for about $500, and 1k miles later check eng light came back. I replaced the manifold sensor in about 15 mins, and all has been well. These guys arent hacks they just try to nickel and dime you. $16 for shop supplies? What supplies its a sensor you remove, and replace. The hourly labor rate is just way to high here, and id recommend a mom and pop type of mechanic.

I was in town for a wedding when I started having vehicle issues. Sholar came highly recommended but as you know with word of mouth, things can still be hit or miss. Let me tell you, I am incredibly blown away with this shop. I never once felt like just another customer, I felt like family! Jason kept me informed from day one until work was complete with full transparency and top notch recommendations on other work that should be performed but never once tried to “get over on me” and made it clear that the extra work was just recommendations but they’d be glad to perform the job. Compared to other shops I’ve been to, what they charge was right in line if not cheaper than most! If I could duplicate this shop and bring it to my home town I’d do it in a second! Thanks again to the Sholar family and if I’m ever in town again I’ll probably just drop my vehicle off for a once over because thanks to them I now know more about my vehicle than ever!

I went there with not a clue as to what was making this noise that I couldn’t explain in words and could feel in the gas pedal. Knew I had a cv shaft going bad so I got that changed and they even found out where the noise was coming from and helped with my headlights. The main thing I was really impressed with was the customer service, front desk guy was really helpful and got me in and out and everything fixed. I definitely recommend these guys..

I was visiting from Florida (formerly from here) and I felt a crazy shimmy when braking. Knew exactly where I was going to take my car for service. I was a Pets customer in the past and then continued with Sholar. They got me right in and all fixed up. Now I will have a nice safe trip back to Florida!! Exceptional service from start to finish!! Highly recommend!!
