We purchased a brand new $63,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee L Limited from Melloy Dodge Jeep in Los Lunas just two weeks ago, straight off the showroom floor. The vehicle has very low mileage, yet the drive mode selector quickly began malfunctioning and would not properly switch between modes. We scheduled an appointment to have the issue checked, but when we arrived, we were told there was no appointment on record. We waited nearly two hours expecting a loaner vehicle and service support, but nothing was provided. Eventually, we had no choice but to leave and drive back to Albuquerque. Our salesman later assured us he had rescheduled us for the following morning. We returned, picked up a loaner, and were then told the issue may have been caused by a soda spill in the center console that allegedly affected a wiring harness. Despite the vehicle being almost brand new and covered under bumper-to-bumper warranty, they refused to cover the repair. Instead, we were quoted nearly $1,000 out of pocket for the fix. Due to the holidays, we decided to wait before moving forward with repairs. However, we were still charged a $293 diagnostic fee simply for them to look at the vehicle and point out the supposed spill—no repair, no resolution. To make matters worse, they mentioned a 15% discount on the diagnostic fee, but that discount was never honored. We were charged the full amount anyway. For a dealership selling high-end vehicles, the lack of accountability, poor communication, and refusal to stand behind a nearly new car is extremely disappointing. This experience fell far short of expectations, and I would not recommend doing business here.
