Atrocious Service and Complete Disrespect for my Time. For context, I'm a former ASE Master certified tech and my father owned a service center in KY prior to his passing, so I know a little about this stuff. I performed some front-end work on my truck that required an alignment. I called Cedar Crest Tire the week prior to schedule an appointment. They asked if my truck was lifted (4 inches) and then told me they couldn't do it. I thought it was a little strange they refused without asking the length of my truck, the tire diameter, or my rear track-width, which would all be more important factors of whether my truck fits on their machine, but okay, I wouldn't argue. However, when I got my front-end together and began my drive to ABQ, I had a significant low-speed vibration. The alignment was way off, and I wasn't going to return home to try to eyeball correct it at this point. I decided to pull into Cedar Crest Tire in hopes of not having to limp my truck all the way to ABQ. Maybe if they saw my truck wasn't running oversize tires, they could get me on the rack. As I suspected, there was no concern about the size of my truck once it was in their parking lot. The service advisor told me his next appointment was Friday. It was Monday. Disappointing because I had tried to schedule the week before, but I can understand mistakes happen. I asked if I could leave my truck and see if he could work me in sooner, but Friday would work. He agreed. I left feeling appreciative that they would try to work me in. I received a call the next morning attempting to upsell me on tire balancing (I get it, this causes most vibrations, but I had already told him about my front-end work, so eye roll), and he wanted to know where my wheel key was. I thought, awesome, they're about to pull the truck in. Nope. On Friday, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called to confirm I'd get my truck today. The first advisor said they don't show any appointments for me at all. I explained how long my truck had been there. Then the other advisor got on the phone and said he had told me the following Friday. He claimed I had misunderstood. Here's the thing. If that was true, why didn't they show any appointments for me at all? And what shop with limited parking would want my truck there for 2 weeks waiting for an alignment? Rather than own their mistake and work me in by end of day, they told me I would still have to wait for a cancellation. This is bad business and shows no concern for their customer's time. Alignments are a quick 30-45 minute job and while my initial 5-day wait for one seemed ludicrous, I had agreed to it and could live with it. But the idea that they couldn't even stop and ask their techs if anyone wanted to make an hour of time-and-a-half to correct a scheduling mistake they made is atrocious. There was still plenty of profit there, and good customer service means absorbing a minor cost to fix your own blunder. At my Dad's shop, we had even sometimes taken a car to another garage and paid to use their alignment rack if ours was tied up and we had made promises. I mentioned to the advisor that I didn't understand their business model because when you have a bay being taken up by an alignment rack, you usually want to crank out alignments to pay for that machinery. He told me, "that's not how it works. We do a lot of heavy engine and transmission work." That's a massive operational red flag about this shop, but it does explain why my truck sat untouched for four days "waiting on a cancellation." Their alignment rack was likely trapped under a torn-down powertrain project. Doing that kind of work in the alignment bay would paralyze the shop. What if someone is scheduled for tires and the tech sees a wear pattern indicating an alignment? They're going to send you on your way and just let you ruin those new tires. And worse, performing that kind of work in the alignment bay would risk ruining the precision equipment. Drop something heavy or spill corrosive liquids and your alignment sensors are shot.

These guys at Cedar Crest Tire recently replaced the engine on my 2012Jeep Wrangler. I had an extended warranty and they did all the haggeling with them and did a great job. My dad used them for years and was always happy. I've bought tires from them in the past I've had minor oil changes and tire repairs done and they've always done a really good job. Went out the other day and found my jeeps battery was dead and they came out to try to jump me and we found that the battery was departed. It wouldn't take the jump. So he went back to the shop and came back out and put another battery in for me. They've been in business a long time and their prices are very reasonable. I'm just grateful to have a great automotive shop here in the East mountains that can take care of any problem that you have from your air conditioning or a low tire to a total engine replacement ! thanks guys
View on GoogleI blew a tire & damaged the rim on a trailer this morning. Took a couple of pics and headed to Cedar Crest Tire. Kevin and his crew were absolutely awesome...Their service call was so fair, I didn't have to phone a friend to help. They popped up to grab the tire & rim, hook me up with a new one, then back up to install. I was back on the road in an hour! Sincere thanks to Kevin, Cindy, and the awesome crew at Cedar Crest Tire ✌️
View on GoogleI’m 8 months pregnant, my tire popped on the highway while I was in town. I’m not from here and was stranded. My spare was even flat. They came and saved me, airing up my spare and then patched my tire for me even though they were close to closing. It was really cheap and saved me tremendously. I appreciate them so much and would highly recommend!
