We took in 3 very inexpensive cruisers that we attempted to assemble ourselves! The guys were so friendly & welcoming & got our bikes repaired at a super reasonable price. This was in comparison to High Desert West bike shop where the dude was rude & basically shooed us out of their shop because we were not presenting with high end bikes! I can say that Fat Tire Cycles is accommodating to ALL people looking to repair, buy or tune up bicycles from basic to performance/ electric…you name it. And they will treat you right.

06/20/2026 - I stopped by Fat Tire Cycle several days ago regarding a sliding seat post on my Colnago. I spoke with Frank, who took time out of his busy schedule to help. He provided some Fiber Grip and suggested that if it didn't solve the problem, I should bring the bike in. I dropped the bike off yesterday, and Frank assured me it was an easy fix, though I was a bit skeptical. To my surprise, I received a call today letting me know the bike was ready. What a turnaround! When I arrived, Frank clearly explained what had been done and was confident that the seat post would no longer slip. Frank and the entire staff are always kind, considerate, knowledgeable, and approachable. There are plenty of bike shops in Albuquerque, but I will continue returning to Fat Tire Cycle with complete confidence. I trust Frank and the team with my bike and truly appreciate the outstanding customer service they provide. Thank you to the entire Fat Tire staff for all that you do! I ride a Colnago bike and was having issues with a loud sounding noise from what I believed to be the bottom crank. I went into Fat Tire and spoke with Frank, it is not the norm for someone to be attentive. Frank was mindful, kind and attentive regarding my concerns. Frank was able to locate the parts, fix the bike (bearings) and return it within a reasonable time. The staff is also great and attentive. The best part the cost was within my budget. Great job.
View on GoogleShout out to Mike for introducing my hubby & I to E-bikes. Mike, even though visually impaired, answered all of our questions & made me fall in love with the Eufree Solar Sparrow. Thanks to another savior in this shop for fixing my new bike with a new seat stem to fit my short stature. (Sorry I didn't ask your name). First ride today opened my world again(I'm 75)! Thank you very much!
View on GoogleFirst, I want to mention that this is the third time in 15+ years that I’ve taken the time to actually write a review from an experience with a business. Prior to my in store visit, I spoke with a woman on the phone who I believe worked for the Corrales store but I am not certain so my review is based off of both of those experiences. I took my brand new rattan e-bike in after riding it for the second time due to a front flat tire. I called and spoke to a woman the day prior to bringing it to the shop who informed me I didn’t need an appointment and that my bike would be serviced same day unless “a family of six came in with flat tires on each of their bikes”(her words exactly). My bike is heavy so I needed my son’s help to load and unload the bike in my SUV so I wasn’t able to make it in on the same day I called but I did make it the next day. When I arrived I asked for both tires to have the tannus liner installed based off the woman’s recommendation from my phone call the previous day. I informed the man that my front tire wouldn’t hold air after my second ride on the bike. It was disappointing when I was informed I had to leave the bike overnight but I understood since it was so close to Christmas Eve. When I came back the next afternoon, the gentleman informed me I didn’t need a new tube and that my tube was holding air which shocked me as I tried airing it up only for it to go flat minutes later so I’m not sure what happened there but I was happy to hear I didn’t have to pay for a new tube. My invoice estimated price was $202 yet at pickup I paid 193.70 so I’m not sure why there wasn’t much of a difference in price especially since I was quoted $60 per tire for the liner on the phone. My husband took the bike to my SUV as I was finishing paying for it and I left town for the holidays soon after so I didn’t look my bike over until 12/29/23. The first issue I noticed is my wiring on the handle bars are completely wrapped around the handlebars pole making it difficult to steer or turn as the wires now have no slack. Then I noticed the little stem caps are missing which isn’t a big deal but is irritating, next I took it for a ride around the neighborhood and the bike has this resistance when I was walking it out to the street as if I was squeezing one of the break levers. As I was riding I still could feel this resistance that wasn’t there before I took it in. The breaks work but the bike now makes a weird noise when I peddle again that wasn’t there before. My seat that has suspension built in isn’t working and really makes me question if someone rode my bike because the seat post was raised passed the maximum height recommended by rattan. I’m new to bike riding and wasn’t comfortable fixing the flat tire myself that’s why I took it in, trusting my bike would be serviced correctly yet now my wires are wrapped around the bike, there’s a constant resistance now that wasn’t there before, the front headlight wasn’t even plugged in, and there’s screw holes that look like they had screws in them before but now don’t, and I have no idea what is causing the noise I hear while riding plus my seat suspension is not working. One break lever is so hard to squeeze while the other one I can squeeze almost all the way in. While riding the seat’s suspension would allow for a smooth ride because the seat would move up and down some on bumps and now it doesn’t. I am going to have to take it in to see what is causing the noise and to see if someone could figure out why I feel a resistance even when I am walking with the bike a few steps. Really regret leaving it overnight as I wanted to stay and watch it be worked on. What a waste of money and thought it was just a simple flat tire. I took a picture of the bikes wire cable setup from the manual showing how nice and organized it was when I dropped it off just for reference.
View on GoogleGave me ill fitting parts and laughed at me when I brought them in because they thought it was my fault. After arguing for half an hour they attempted it themselves, did hell to my rim and admitted fault. I had to fight to get every penny back and then when I asked for a good tire for the thorns they said they didn’t know. Unbelievable. Go to Outdoor Regear or REI. They helped me with no issues like fat tire should have. I’ll ever come back here
