Ally Auto Service

I started coming to Ally Auto about a year or so ago and it’s been great. The same level of professionalism every time I come in. They go above and beyond to be transparent about your repairs, open discussions about your repairs, and honesty. Pricing is fair and reasonable for the service that they offer. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a good reliable mechanic.

Helped me with a recently purchased 2012 Honda Accord. Lynn in the office is kind and professional. She goes above and beyond to make certain your car gets the services it needs and she doesn't upsell. The shop work was completed as expected. No surprises. I will return to Ally for my all of my vehicle maintenance needs.

Ally has been great with my 2001 Nissan Pathfinder - even with intermittent electrical and sensor issues that are really hard to troubleshoot. Honestly, if it wasn't for them I'd probably have to buy a new car. They have also been great about pointing out when work is covered by their warranty. I don't have to research it or fight for it - they just voluntarily let me know. I don't recall any other shop that has ever done that for me.

The staff at Ally was great about keeping us posted as things progressed with the van. They let us know if that were waiting on parts, and when they were working with the warranty company etc. the staff at Ally are so friendly and very fair on cost. We didn’t feel they were price gouging as other auto places we have worked with in the past. Thank you for doing such a great job and working with us so well!

The people were very nice, professional, and highly confident. I brought my car here because it was so highly rated. Unfortunately people often mistake confidence and reputation for actual skill and integrity. This shop incorrectly diagnosed my car's problem. I dont blame them too much and certainly would not write a negative review just over that- because several other mechanics had already previously also failed to correctly diagnose the issue. I'll explain: 3 weeks before, it was disovered my front cv axles were broken and had to be replaced. It took 3 different part attempts and ultimately a part which was not vin accurate to 'fix' one of the axles. 3 weeks and 1,000 miles of towing a 4K lbs trailer later my car breaks down in Omaha(all the sudden it started shaked intensely upon acceleration). After contact, i had the car towed to the highest rated nearby shop, Ally Auto. They said i had to replace one cv axle AND that axle's seal (as 2 seperate line items). Fortunately, I delayed in indecision and confusion long enough that they closed for the weekend, and I took my car to get a new battery, tires, and alignment since these was also issues. (I could drive slowely in gear 1 or 2). The tire shop redirected me to Brakes Plus @ 10050 S 71st Plaza Papillion NE 68133 [whom i HIGHLY recomend]. THANK GOD. Jeff at that Brakes plus correctly identified that the previous owner had installed a lift kit on the front wheels. This 'lift kit' changed the angle of the front axles and caused them to break under the stress of towing and made the replacement FR axle not fit right. I had been to 5 mechanics in the previous 3 weeks and no one else had the skill to see that this was the problem. So... About Ally auto; I didn't appreciate being presented mediocre tires and battery when I needed better- but this might be a matter of preference or some misunderstanding. However, what is clear, and the reason I am writting this, is the original quote that i received from Ally auto. They asked for $760 for the CV axle assembly AND $580 for the axle shaft oil seal seal. Every mechanic I've spoken with says that replacing the seal is standard practice when replacing the axle. It should not be a seperate line item at all. The seal costs between $10 and $30 and since you're already in there replacing the axle, it takes no more than 15 minutes to replace the seal. So to be clear they presented an estimate to me for $580 for a ~$20 part and 15 minutes of time. Lately, I've thought that I am unlucky, but in this case that extends to Ally auto. See, I was just passing through enroute from DC to Oregon and had my car towed to Ally Auto; So, i was in a vulnerable position. 99% of people would have just paid the $1,340 and moved on with their life. However, I am in the 1% of people who won't fix anything on my car unless i trust the mechanic and actually understand the problem. We can confirm their price gouging easily. Once I brought this up to Ally auto they said somthing about how they can ask any amount for any service and immediately updated my quote.
