El Paisa Auto Repair

I don’t like writing negative reviews, but people need to know about my experience at El Paisa in Fremont, NE. If 0 stars was an option, I would give them 0 stars. I brought in my Dodge Charger because it wouldn’t start. They charged me $450 for an oil change and a so-called “diagnostic” that told me the issue was my key fob battery (which they didn’t even replace—I had to do that myself). They never disclosed any pricing or asked for approval before charging me. And they said they only accept cash, so here I am at the atm only allowed to take 300 out. So I gave them $300 for everything and the guy who claimed to be the manager, would not not even give me an itemized receipt for the service and told me it would cost me more if I wanted a receipt. After leaving their shop, the car was in worse shape than before. I had a burning smell, smoke coming from under the hood, and the oil pressure light constantly going off. The oil temp gauge kept bouncing from cold to hot. It was obvious something serious was going on. A few days later, my dad helped me add antifreeze, and it leaked out all over the driveway. Turns out the oil cooler housing was cracked, and El Paisa either didn’t catch it—or ignored it. But the worst part? When I called El Paisa to explain the situation and symptoms, they wanted me to bring the car back (an hour away from where I live in Council Bluffs, IA) and pay them more money for another look. The car was barely drivable and running so badly that bringing it back would’ve been risking my entire engine. I told them no way. I also mentioned that most shops offer free diagnostics, and that they never told me any prices upfront. Suddenly, the story changed—he claimed he told us the alternator needed to be replaced (which wasn’t true at all—it was literally just the fob battery). After going back and forth with him, he finally said, “Fine, you don’t owe me any more money,” and hung up on me. I had the car towed to another shop in Omaha that my dad had recommended, and they fixed it the right way. If I had kept driving it after El Paisa’s "repair," I might’ve wrecked my engine completely. Save yourself the stress and extra cost. Avoid El Paisa.

If like my comment click the ❤️ and show some love 😘 I called the mechanic shop. I told him I had an engine light on, & that I took it to AutoZone. I told him the code the computer gave me. The Mechanic said: "So what you want me to do about that?" You know I'm a customer, first of all, secondly I was calling to see if it was worth my time to bring it over to your shop, I see now it's not worth my time or money🤑. Respect goes both ways. Will I ever come by here??? Unless this the only shop open in the world 🌎. Other than that no. I was really hoping he talk to me at least with some kind of knowledge of what might be wrong with my car 🚗. I see he is not really there for the community only his pocket.

They have the worst attitude

My family and I got a flat tire on the way to Omaha. We went to Walmart, and of course, they were never any help, only more frustration.
