Senter Family Auto Repair

I started taking my vehicles to Senter Family Auto Repair when the shop first moved to Mulliken. I wanted to support a local business, but my experiences have made that really difficult. On my first visit, the shop left all of the lug nuts on one tire loose after service. I drove down M-43 toward Grand Ledge without a clue there was a problem until I heard a noise when I got there. A walk-around of the car showed that four of the five lug nuts were completely missing. By some miracle, I didn't lose that tire at highway speed. That's not just a small mistake, it's a serious safety issue. Even after that, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and brought in a second vehicle for a noise it was making. They told me the front differential was bad and quoted around $2,000 for the repair, which included an astounding $900 charge for a junkyard diff with 150,000 miles on it, that the same yard offers for $375. When I asked about the pricing, I was ignored. What's worse, I eventually found out the front differential wasn't even the actual problem. Had I given the go-ahead, I would have paid $2,000 for a repair that wouldn't have fixed a thing. Between a dangerous mistake on the first vehicle and a wrong, overpriced diagnosis on the second, I just can't recommend this shop. I had every intention of being a long-term customer, but the trust just isn't there anymore. EDIT- In response to the "Owner": The food pantry is a community entity run by a board of individuals — not one person — and I am not a member of that board. I do not hold any decision-making authority over the pantry's operations. I was not involved in the decision to bring the van to your shop in the first place. That said, I did strongly advise against taking the van to your shop. And it's worth noting that there have been other electrical issues that were not present until after serviced at your location. Any donations made to the pantry, including the cost of repairs to the van, were never expected or implied by me or anyone else. I never once had anything to do with donations to the food pantry.

Very excited to have Senter's practically down the road from me! My truck was in need of some major repairs and as always they were right there in a heartbeat! Compassionate, understanding, patient as well as great work on my truck. For a 20 year old truck they have been fixing everything that has been going wrong with it promptly and effectively. They have gone above and beyond for me in ways that I never knew any mechanic shop would. They are there in a heartbeat if I need them! They provide Great And Timely repairs as they know I'm a busy person working two jobs. I highly recommend! This is now my forever mechanic shop. I'm valued here too much to go anywhere else.

My coworker recommended Senter to me for my truck in the spring and I have been nothing but pleased with their amazing service. I had them do a pre purchase inspection on a new truck for me. The mechanic was awesome in walking me through the problems he found and answering all of my questions!

Absolutely amazing customer care and affordable prices! While most shops will keep your car they got me mine back same day! (This won’t be the case all the time but I guarantee they will be speedy and professional.) I have taken multiple vehicles here and will continue to do so this place is a 10/10
