What truly sets him apart is his honesty and integrity — qualities that are priceless these days. Sam is a true gentleman. He explained everything clearly, didn’t try to upsell anything unnecessary, and made sure the job was done right. The workmanship was excellent, and the pricing was fair and transparent. Beyond the quality of the work, the customer service is top-tier. You never feel rushed or pressured. They genuinely care about their customers and stand behind what they do. It’s rare to find a shop that combines skill, professionalism, and character the way Sam does. If you need brake work or any service done right, this is the place to go. I took my car in to get the shock absorbers fixed, thinking it would be a simple repair. Big mistake. Somehow, a job that should’ve cost a reasonable amount turned into a bill so high I’m pretty sure it rivaled the national debt. I walked in with a car that bounced a little and walked out feeling like my bank account had been hit by a meteor. The pricing made absolutely no sense. Every time I asked about the cost, there seemed to be another mysterious fee added on—labor, parts, extra labor, “just because” labor… at one point I expected them to charge me for breathing the air in the waiting room. By the time I saw the final total, I half expected a finance minister to show up and offer me a bailout plan. Customer service didn’t make things better either. Instead of explaining the charges clearly, I got vague answers and a shrug, like this was totally normal and everyone casually spends the price of a small country’s GDP on shock absorbers. If you enjoy financial ruin, dramatic life choices, and questioning every decision you’ve ever made, this is the place for you. If not, you might want to shop around unless you’re ready to refinance your future just to stop your car from bouncing.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they charged extra for turning a wrench. It honestly feels like they spin a wheel in the back to decide how much they’re going to drain from your wallet. What really gets me is how normal they act about it. Like it’s totally reasonable to leave someone questioning their entire financial stability over a car repair. I came in with a problem with my car, I left with a problem with my bank account, my savings, and my will to ever trust a mechanic again. If you enjoy the thrill of watching your money disappear at record speed, this is definitely the place for you. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and run, don’t walk, in the opposite direction.

A good mechanic that you can trust is worth their weight in gold and Sam at Northwestern Auto Care is one of the most trustworthy mechanics I've ever been too. A dealership shop quoted me $10k to get my car fixed and Northwestern got me up and running for a honest price. I whole-heartedly recommend this location for all your automotive care needs. Both major repairs he’s done on my current car have been more affordable and than other nearby shops and have worked out very well.
