Automated Transmission

I was referred to Steve by my Cousin and really glad I was! They did a transmission rebuild in my 1989 Mercury Cougar XR7 and as of today 4/21/25 I just dropped my daughters 1986 Ford F150 off to have her transmission done. She lost 3rd and overdrive. They do a great job at a really good price! I 100 percent recommend them! Thank you Steve and your guys for a GREAT job and service!

I left my car with them for a transmission rebuild and then left the state for two weeks, which should have been an ideal situation for them to complete the repair without any time pressure from me and without requiring me to find another vehicle. However, after just three days, Steve began calling me asking for payment. I explained that I would be back in about 10 days, I but he continued calling and asking when I would pick up the car.When I returned, I paid and picked up the vehicle, but the transmission had not been fixed it had the same issue I originally brought it in for. I had to bring the car back again, and this time I had to arrange another vehicle for commuting for another week. My concern is that they had more than enough time to complete the repair, properly test drive the car, and ensure the issue was resolved. Instead, they wasted that time and did not fix the problem correctly, while repeatedly pressuring me for payment.

The build includes a tune, comes with a solid warranty, and most importantly reflects the experience and quality control they bring to the table. In my opinion, that matters more than saving a few dollars upfront on something as critical as a transmission. I picked the truck up on February 26th, and the difference is immediately noticeable. Shift points are crisp and controlled, no hesitation or flare between gears, no delayed engagement, and no harsh clunking under load. Power delivery feels consistent and responsive. It drives tight and refined — the way a properly built and calibrated transmission should. Another detail that impressed me: prior to bringing the truck in, I had an exhaust rattle that I knew was likely caused by a loose clamp. I never mentioned it. They identified and corrected it during their inspection. That tells me they’re not just swapping parts — they’re thoroughly checking the vehicle and paying attention to overall drivability and quality. It’s still early, and I’ll update after putting more miles on it, but first impressions are excellent. Very good place to get work done, they charge a fair price and are very nice. Been bringing my 1989 corvette there for all sorts of issues, mechanical and electrical and they’ve done a good job.
