Just got my car back after some screeching sounds on start up. I’m very careful about where I bring my car since it’s an older model but runs good and is reliable. Kenny never gauges his prices, is VERY fast and efficient and Michael is equally kind and fast. Genuinely feel like he knows me versus just another customer. So happy with my car! I always go there for my inspection. Incredibly quick. Also got my brakes done by them last year as my first visit!

Went to have my AC serviced. Got halfway home and my engine was smoking. Returned and was told a hose busted, when shown the hose there was a clean cut. I had to then pay for the hose replacement that they claim miraculously "busted". Today, the issue persists and another mechanic was taking a look. We discovered a dirty razor blade underneath the hood nestled right underneath the replaced hose. I called to make the owner or manager aware. Johnny hung up on me twice. Mike reported not knowing the manager or owners name and hung up again. I tried calling back several times and the phone is now off the hook and ringing busy. 1 star is me being generous.

If I could give zero stars, I would. We tried to be understanding, but after repeatedly having to return for additional repairs every time we use their service, I’m starting to believe they either don’t know what they’re doing or are intentionally taking advantage of customers. Our last service with them cost $1,200. Less than two months later, my husband’s car broke down in the middle of the road—with our toddler in the car—and had to be towed to their Hingham location. Once there, they quoted him another $300, not including the towing expense. The worst part is that the issue was the exact same one they had assured him was fixed for the original $1,200. Fatima kept insisting that “things happen” and that it wasn’t their fault, rather than taking responsibility for the failed repair. On top of that, their nephew, who works there, was extremely rude and aggressive toward my husband whenever he tried to express his concerns. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, they attempted to shame us for being unhappy with their service and for refusing to pay again when the original problem had clearly not been resolved. I highly do not recommend this business if you want to avoid similar issues. At best, they seem incompetent; at worst, it feels like they make temporary fixes so customers have to keep coming back and spending more money. I truly wish we had gone to our trusted mechanic—even though he is an hour away—instead of dealing with this experience.

I want to give a shout out to Hingham Auto repair and detailing. My husband stores his 1968 Sport Satellite next to Hingham Auto repair and detailing. When he was taking it out of storage for the weekend he noticed a significant gas leak. He went over to Hingham Auto to see if they could help . Regardless of the shop being super busy , Kenny came right over to check it out. He was able to figure out the problem. It was difficult to reach where he needed to get to so he said he could get it up on the lift after they finished a brake job and a couple of inspections . The mechanics are all great guys and did a great job fixing the problem. The shop was really busy that day and my husband and I just showed up unexpectedly asking for help. Kenny was so nice , helpful and kind to us and when all was said and done was not going to charge us for the work. I am happy that he eventually agreed to let us pay him. I am so thankful for Kenny’s kindness, generosity and help. While I was waiting outside I noticed everyone who arrived for their appointments all genuinely like Kenny and the guys in the shop. Some have been customers for years. I think that says a lot about how a person runs their business and the quality of work they do. Thank you again Kenny and to the guys in the shop. We truly appreciate you all.

I highly recommend Hingham Auto Repair for all your automotive repair needs. Kenny is extremely knowledgeable and fair on his pricing. His mechanic Mike is amazing. He is experienced on all brands and I have found him to be thorough and honest. I am very selective on who I let work on my cars., I have never been disappointed. Give them a shot!
