Sorry for the late review. As always the service was great and very friendly. I had it towed for what appeared to be serous electrical issues. I also asked to check on an engine hesitation issue thats been going almost 2 years. Two prior mechanics could not fix it. They fixed both in one shot and at a great price. First time I've been happy my car broke down. Drives like new. Thanks guys. Worth the wait

Great management and staff. Responding in timely manner never delays. The amazing part is the price I paid, I couldn’t believe myself paying that amount of money. That is humanity. More winning

AVOID AVOID AVOID Predatory Practice, Unconscionable Pricing, and Incomplete Repair I am writing this to warn others about the deceptive pricing and poor service I experienced. After keeping my car for a week, I was hit with an invoice that was far beyond the original quote and included charges for work I never authorized like triple stacking labor costs to fix one lightbulb, and justify the entire cost of changing light bulbs to $165 by having to remove the front bumper when the invoice stated “w/o” moving bumper .. yet they tackle on $43.50 labor fees x THREE. I never authorized having my license plate bulbs replaced … and to triple the labor costs for light bulbs is unconscionable. But wait! There’s more! Fuel Pump Overcharge: I was quoted a fair price initially, on the high side, but tolerable if OEM … but the final bill for the fuel pump was jacked up by $200. Why? They ordered the wrong part for my make/model! So who best pass on the charges than to themselves.. let me pay for it especially when I’m under duress and in desperate need of my car! I was forced to pay for the shop's own mistakes via price hikes. To reiterate from earlier, I requested two primary headlight bulbs. Instead, they triple-stacked the labor costs and added "tiny" license plate bulbs that I never asked for. To make matters worse, the driver-side light is still dim, meaning I paid a premium for a repair that wasn't even finished correctly.. Overall customer service aside from the repairs were below satisfactory, which is usually reflected by the overall morale and attention to detail or lack thereof they adhere to while fixing your car. I certainly do not recommend this shop if you are seeking a reliable and honest repair shop. If you are stranded on 6th Street and have nowhere else to go, find another shop… do not go to Garber. Imagine on an old car having to pay over $800 for a fuel pump?!?! Yes.. they charged a fee to easily flip a backseat to have a look as well. Imagine having to pay $165 for headlights they partially replaced and decided my license plate lights were more important with bulbs that cost $4 and a bumper they never removed for $15 headlights… A 3% surcharge on a credit card on top of that, okay yeah, benefit of the doubt on the surcharge “sure I guess” but paying over $1,000 for a fuel pump and headlights .. I could write another long TLDR thing but I’ll just end it here. I urge anyone who read this all the way through to once again NOT COME HERE even if they are the last auto repair shop standing just watch some Scotty Kilmer videos on YouTube instead. UPDATE: The owner wants to play this condescending little game with his response and not acknowledge any of the mistakes that were made, and purposely taint my version of the events. I do not know where his critical thinking skills lie here but when a customer has his car in a shop for over week, there probably are not that many choices outside of that…. The car broke down less than a mile away, of course my options were limited. Long story short .. to charge a customer one quote and then up charge the original quote because the “wrong part came in” .. the cost difference does not and SHOULD NOT get passed to the customer for failing to identify the problem initially. When a customer is under duress, and needs his car back.. yes sometimes he has to approve of the UP charges, OBVIOUSLY.. do I really want to have my car towed to another shop, eating more costs in the meantime?! This is the CLASSIC predatory tactics that shops have always done!! The owner’s response does not fool anyone. AND $165 for ONE front HEADLIGHT W/O REMOVING THE BUMPER and two tiny bulbs I NEVER approved of for the license plate is a ridiculous price because of THREE SIMULTANEOUS costs of $43.50 in labor that should’ve ONLY amounted to ONE labor fee. NOT only that but only one bulb works!!!!!!! Do you guys not CHECK your work?!?!! You want to change the story but I have the invoice with me as evidence.. I recently had my car worked on at Garber. They charged me 700 dollars to fix my heater and didn't fix it all the way . They charged me 50 dollars to change a turn signal bulb And when i picked the car up the turn signal they charged me for was not fixed Instead of apologizing . They girl in front lied to me. Saying my right turn signal was out and replaced. I turned right to get unto their parking lot it was working fine. I told her the car tells you when the blinker is out. All cars do . Since the 1970's. She acted like i couldn't of known it wasn't out . Yes since the 70s all turn signals When one goes out it blinks faster. Thus telling you its out . She double downed on her lie 3 times by the time her guy switched out the bulb. It took him 5 mins to fix On the bill they charged me 40 mins to change that same bulb. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone . In fact I'm going to file fraud charges because the fan motor the allegedly replaced. The y didn't. Bad horrible liars.

I recently had Garber Automotive replace the engine in my 1970 Impala. I approached three other local shops for quotes. Two of them wouldn’t even give me an estimate, and the third gave me the “I really don’t want to do it price”. Micah and his staff are the absolute best I’ve ever worked with. They gave me an accurate quote quickly, scheduled the job, and was actually ready for the car when I brought it in. My car was completed on time and on budget. If you own a vintage car, you know how hard it is to find a reliable, honest mechanic. Garber Automotive has earned my trust and recommendation.
