I can’t say enough good things about Slate Performance Automotive. From the owners to every employee involved, this shop delivers an absolutely top-tier experience from start to finish. They took on the labor-intensive task of transforming my 1978 Ford Bronco—which at one point was completely inoperable with an engine and transmission just sitting in place—and elevated it to an entirely different level through their expertise and dedication. I was extremely hesitant to trust another shop after being given the runaround by others in the past, but the moment I stepped foot into Slate Performance, all of that anxiety disappeared. This is a shop that truly understands what it takes to make things happen the right way. Their kindness, understanding, and integrity are next level—especially in a day and age where too many places are only focused on collecting money. From start to finish on my Bronco build, they never stopped showing up and showing out, consistently delivering outstanding workmanship and customer service. Today, I proudly own one of the nicest Coyote-swapped 1978 Ford Broncos Indianapolis has ever seen, and I owe that entirely to the incredible team at Slate Performance Automotive. If you’re looking for a shop that is knowledgeable from start to finish on classic vehicles, this is the place. From paint and full rewiring front to back, to upgraded upholstery, stereo systems, door poppers, suspension, engine and transmission resto-mod swaps, rock light installs, and window tint—they truly do it all. I can’t thank them enough. Ryan and Dillion have built something special, and I’m proud to say they absolutely knocked my build out of the park. Excellent & professional place that knows their trade. I needed a performance shop that knows the Dodge SRT Hellcat platform. I’d bought my car sight unseen and had it shipped from out of state, but it arrived modified with a smaller supercharger pulley that left me concerned. The staff at Slate answered my questions, gave knowledgeable advice, options and then got my 2017 Challenger M6 Hellcat into the shop that week. If something came up that needed my decision, they called and thoroughly explained the situation and options. During one visit throughout the process, the staff at Slate Performance took my teenage son and I on a tour in their shop. We saw many different and amazing cars in various stages of modification and work. A few days after they finished and I had my car, they called to check in on the car and said they owed me money. Mistakenly, a belt that was quoted didn’t need replaced. It’s nice to deal with a shop in this business with integrity. My car was given the proper supercharger work, supporting fuel system mods, fresh plugs and then dyno and street tuned properly. Great work.

Absolute Pros – The Only Shop I Trust With My S2000! I cannot recommend Slate Automotive Performance enough. I’ve trusted them with multiple projects for my Honda S2000, and they deliver flawless results every single time. First, they prepped, painted, and installed a rear spoiler for me. The paint match is absolutely perfect—matching older OEM paint can be a nightmare, but they nailed it. Second, I had them adjust my coilover suspension. They listened exactly to what I wanted and perfectly dialed in the exact ride height I needed. The car handles beautifully and looks incredible. Beyond the top-tier craftsmanship, their customer service is unmatched. Every interaction has been completely professional. On one of my visits, they even gave me a full tour of the shop and let me check out some of the insane projects they were currently working on, which was awesome to see. Finding a shop you can actually trust with your enthusiast car is rare. The team at Slate has earned my trust completely. If you want the job done right in Indy, this is the place to go!

I had such a great experience with Slate Performance Auto! I was driving by when something got lodged underneath my car, and I honestly had no idea what to do. I stopped in to ask for help, and they were immediately kind and willing to assist. They took the time to jack up my car and safely remove what was stuck all without charging me. That level of generosity and customer service is so rare these days. I’m incredibly grateful for their help and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, reliable, and genuinely kind people. Thank you again!!

Bought a Mitsubishi Eclipse F&F Replica from them and I feel scammed, because Slate told me that the car is in perfect condition, but it came to me in a VERY bad mechanical condition. I am very unhappy and angry about this purchase, especially considering the price and the real condition of the car. There were repairs to be done for over $12,000… And it turned out that the car has been in at least two accidents/crashes which they didn’t told me and also CARFAX didn’t showed me that. They even removed few original parts from the car before transporting it to me… From the outside, the car looks well done, but mechanically, it looks like it was put together by an inexperienced amateur who didn’t know what he was doing. Everything is just screwed together randomly, bolts are not tightened, there’s complete chaos under the hood, many things are poorly welded etc. Slate doesn’t admit guilt, they say the car was not in such bad condition before transport and they don’t want to agree to refund part of the amount for the car. I do not recommend!!!
