Thirty years of working with various mechanics on multiple cars across different regions of the country and I rank Edward’s Transmission on Michigan Rd in Indianapolis as the absolute best experience I have had. Period. Here’s the story: Michael and Moab stepped up after I received an evaluation from York Jeep dealership service that sounded sketchy. I was in a bind trying to get back to Chicago and the transmission on my 2012 jeep grand Cherokee was sporadically revving to 4000 rpm’s. York jeep service ran diagnostics and said the only thing they found was graphite sediment in the pan which they told me the only fix required an entirely new rebuilt transmission for $9200 and warning me it was unsafe to drive. I knew sediment was not unusual which was an immediate red flag. Especially after their mechanic offered to take the car off my hands for cheap. I researched second opinions in the area and Edwards on Michigan Road had the best ratings. So I called. Walked through the situation. And dropped it off — within a day, Moab had thoroughly inspected the transmission with real time sensors. Discovered the transmission was in great shape. The only issue a $20 strap had frayed along with clogged filter which was triggering the problem and explained why the revving was intermittent. From the first call. The honesty, integrity and expertise made this repair experience the best I have ever had for any of my vehicles. The total bill for the repair was 415 and the jeep is running great again. No issues whatsoever. I can’t recommend these guys enough. It’s good to know that trust and talent still go together in this world. I am so happy to have found a place I can trust after moving out here. My car (2013 Chevy Equinox) was making the scariest noises under the hood and jerking forward as I tried braking. Brought it to a commercial mechanic who told me i needed a whole new transmission for over $3200. I called Edward’s Transmission’s for a tow (I didn’t feel safe driving) and second opinion. Not only did they not charge me for the tow or diagnostic, they called as soon as they knew what was wrong with the car and explained everything to me. Not like I was some prissy little girl, either. Explained everything properly and worked with me step by step. Called to keep me updated on the repairs and didn’t come up with surprise charges. I’m so happy and so relieved to have my car back and properly taken care of without being gauged for every cent I have.

First off, I would like to say that his work is amazing. He fixed my car no time and also the towing service was very reliable. What I had done to my car was my battery, my alternator and my belt after he fixed it my car rides better than ever has before Also, his customer service is top-tier. He informed me on all the things that need done and it was informing me all the things that he was doing while he was working on my car and I really appreciate that if you get your car by anybody, it should be him thank you.

Sharing from my wife’s account I took my truck to Edwards as a second opinion. They towed it out of the first shop for free and got me in quickly. They agreed with the initial diagnosis that I did need a new transmission however they provided me with multiple options from rebuild to reman along with professional opinions on both options. I chose the reman which was the more expensive but it was still cheaper than my first quote, had a better warranty, and they hooked me up with a rear end leak for free since they already had my transmission dropped. These guys know their stuff, don’t BS with nonsense and stand by their quality. 10/10 recommend.
