Multistate Transmissions

I would never use this shop. I called to ask about looking at transmissions and vehicle inspections for cars I'm looking to buy. I specifically went into timing chains and tensioner replacement on very common cars- Nissan CVTs and VWs and Lexus/Toyotas. And the guy on the phone literally told me "I don't know what you're even talking about". Won't do diagnostics. Guessing this is just another undetailed mechanic shop that wants to do whatever is quick. Brakes and full replacements. Advertising as a trans shop when that work requires greater detail and knowledge is pretty sketchy. "You usually just replace the chain and all that stuff. We wouldn't get that involved in a car like that, looking at all that, unless there was a problem." (You need to know how to inspect these...if they get to the point of a problem, it's too late, and the engine is likely already ruined.) I could be wrong and maybe they're great, but to say that over the phone when my knowledge is limited and they're supposed to be vehicle experts...is kind of nuts... and at the same time totally expected nowadays. 🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻 They would replace it, but don't inspect them???

Went to this place with a Groupon for the first time. The customer service was amazing. The work done was fantastic. Full service shop!!! This is my new auto place now.

was on the Hot Rod Power Tour 2025 and the trans on my 58 Apache truck took a bite but Brad and his crew took care of it quickly (1 1/2 day turn around) at a fair price with a good warranty.

On a referral, I dropped off my 'Baby' Ford Mustang. I am glad I did. Brad got be back on the road in regular business day. I got my Transmission fluid & oil changed as the owners manual recommended. If you need Professional Car Care, Brad is your Man. Thanks again Brad!

I know that a bad review can really hurt a business. I usually give praises. However, if your business is greed and being deceiving, I am calling you out!! I would give MINUS 5 stars if I could. All the good reviews for Multistate must be family and friends. First they charge for estimates, mine was $135.00 ( they make up the price) for Brad the owner to straight out lie to me. Telling me I needed a new $7000.00 Transmission or a rebuilt one $5000.00. He pushed hard on this!! He said he would put the $135.00 towards the work. ( there's the bait, already monetarily invested) I got suspicious when I noticed he wrote on top of my estimate Gears won't shift. That was bs. The car shifted fine. Then When I wouldn't do that he back peddled saying it may just be a part but your engine light might not go off and your trans could seize up. He told me my car was slipping gears , when it wasn't? He acted as if I was taking his time, very condescending as he tried to overcharge me for a muffler repair as well. He thought he had an easy mark as I am a senior citizen, handicapped, single , woman. I went to several places after Multistate most saying electrical or solenoid problem, and v pipe muffler replacement. In the end Tony's Transmission did NOT charge for an estimate, did NOT lie and fixed the electrical box on the Trans plus fixed my Muffler for $768.00. Brad wanted $1350. Or $5000 or $7000. What a greedy, lying jerk. DO NOT GO HERE. 🚫Save your money, go to a reputable honest mechanic. I saved at the very least $538.00.
