Costco Tire Service Center

Contrary to other reviews my experience here was excellent. I purchased my tires online and had them shipped here to get installed. My initial appt was about 15 days out since they were being shipped, but once they arrived they called me in case I wanted to reschedule SOONER. I took them up on it and got them installed 6 days sooner. Appt was at 10am, dropped off at 10am, and they called me by 10:55am that the car was ready. I was skeptical because of other reviews stating 3 hours to install new tires, but I was done within the hour. Nice work guys.

Overall a good experience. They showed me where to order the tires I needed online, I did a lot of research on my own before hand so I knew exactly what I wanted (Michelin Cross Climate2 are all season and 3 snow peak rated for fantastic winter driving), they installed it professionally it looks like, the deal for the tires were AMAZING at only $858 for the full set, and overall I'm satisfied. My only downside is that they said it would take 1 hour and 20 minutes at MOST but I ended up waiting and having to smell their workshop for a total of 2 hours and 10 minutes until it was finally ready. That's an extra 50 minutes of time I had to sit and wait. They do not provide oil changes. Not sure why Google has that as an option. I wish they did. I would have also gotten the oil change while I waited anyway.

I always purchase my tires and batteries from Costco. I recently moved into the area so naturally I would do my shopping at the Oakbrook location. I ordered a battery and waited over a week for them to tell me they just out of stock. Went to Mount Prospect since it’s close to work and walked out with a new battery. Gave Oakbrook another chance and bought a set of new tires. I told them I needed new TPMS put on the new tires with the non working TPMS. I asked when I will be able to get new sensors installed and they told me to call back during the week. I called and I was told that they don’t know when they would get any sensors. I was told I should check back in a week. Well you guess it they have no idea. What kind of tire center doesn’t have tire sensors or just offer to call the customer back to let them know they are available. This store can’t do the bare minimum to supply tires or batteries.

Got my tires changed today by Matthew. Excellent service, quick and efficient. Highly recommend!

Overall, poor communication and service. I got a flat and brought it in for them to check it. It had sidewall damage and needed to be replaced. They ordered the tire and said it would arrive in 1-2 days. After 4 days no call. Called and was on hold for 5 minutes. Called back and had to go through the actual store to get transferred to someone to help. Was then told the tire had arrived the day before. I needed a week night appointment and they wouldn’t schedule me after 6pm over the phone, but online it can be scheduled later. Dropped off the car and they said it would take 30 min. Went to dinner and over an hour later drove by and the car was still in the bay getting fixed. Waited for 30 more minutes and still no call. The car was out of the bay. Went in and they said the car was done. The wheel the new tire was on had dirt and grime all over it, wasn’t even wiped clean. The spare tire was put in the storage area under the back floor cover but the spare tire lift was left out. I needed to take the spare tire out to put the lift back in next to the tire in the storage area. Also, my Bluetooth is disconnecting now for some reason since they worked on my car. Overall, horrible communication and left me having to clean up after their work. I’ll never go to this Costco Tire service again.
