I’ve been bringing my classic Corvette to Breaking Point Auto for the last couple of years, and they continue to exceed my expectations every single time. This veteran-owned business brings that same discipline, attention to detail, and pride in craftsmanship you’d expect from those who served our country — and it shows in every job they do. You can spot them right off Willow Rd — they’re housed inside the Shell station, and you can’t miss the place because the lot is always filled to the brim with the coolest classic rides from the area. These guys specialize in classics. Good luck finding a shop today that really knows their way around a 350 with a Quadrajet or a Holley carburetor. They service them all. The last time I was there, they were working on a beautiful classic Porsche. Try taking that to a regular mechanic — these guys actually take on the challenge and nail it. Whether it’s routine maintenance, tricky electrical gremlins, or full-on performance upgrades, they treat my Corvette like it’s their own. The work is always clean, precise, and done right the first time. They take the time to explain everything, give honest recommendations, and never try to upsell me on things I don’t need. Communication is excellent, turnaround is reasonable, and the shop is always clean and professional. If you own a classic car — especially a Corvette — and you want it in the hands of true professionals who actually care, look no further. Breaking Point Auto is the real deal. We drive to Breaking Point Auto from Chicago because Brian has always taken such good care of our car for us. He’s a wonderful mechanic, honest, and very reasonably priced. We trust him, which is one of the most important qualities in a mechanic. After moving back to Chicago I was referred to Brian by my stepmother. He’s gone above and beyond helping her in an emergency situation, and helping us as we just bought an old, cheap, used car. He’s given us tips on ways to save money and even checked in on me to make sure the car was running well afterwards. He’s a genuinely good human being with lots of good karma coming his way. Ivan, Brian and the mechanic team are amazing. They work on classic cars as well as imports. They did lots of work on my 83 Chevy C20 and recently did work on our daughters Volvo. This hidden gem of a shop is a one stop shop with honest and freindly staff. Their work is great and they are very fair and transparent with prices. Our go to shop for all mechanical needs.
