I love this place, I’ve know the owner for decades, I have use his services along with my son coming from Naperville IL. He has quality work, reasonable prices, nice person over all. Business hours are great he’s even open on Sunday 10-3 pm, you can’t beat it. He is the best muffler shop in Melrose Park, IL the waiting room is nice and clean . I can’t say enough about Montoya’s Mufflers . I give this place ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ work guarantee!!!! The travel is well worth it to me. And travel further than that cause I know the work is done right. Many friends and family members come to him. His referrals if he doesn’t do the work there also excellent…👍🏽

Montoya mufflers has done work for me twice on my 2005 Chevy Cobalt. I’ve watched their employee work on my car. He does excellent work and checks well for any leaks. I have made this shop my go to shop for all of my vehicle exhaust work. They have replaced my resonator pipe and direct fit catalytic converter. I’ve been to other shops like Velasquez. Velasquez muffler techs are not good technicians and they are way overpriced. Another shop has also replaced my direct fit catalytic converter also and they didn’t change the gaskets. Which is why I believe my catalytic converter went bad twice. Thank you Montoya for the great service and price.

Called up asked about pricing, they came in more economical in the area. Gave them a shot was not dissapointed in and out quick since got a 1yr warranty on the flexpipe. If I have any issues withing the year I will update if not you know its quality work.

DO NOT GO HERE. A few years ago, they installed a flex pipe on my 2007 Toyota Corolla — a part that was never supposed to be on my car in the first place. Now that it’s rusted out, they quoted me $140 to “fix” it — again using the same unnecessary part. I called another shop who confirmed that my car was never designed to have a flex pipe at all. This place clearly does patch jobs and upcharges customers for things they don’t need. Total scam. Be careful!!

Recently, my engine light went on and it turns out my catalytic converter was about to die. Smoke started coming out of the vents while also releasing a horrible smell. I took it to Montoya’s and he quickly gave me a quote. I payed 990$ for a complete new converter installation (I have a Honda Crv 2012 LX) This is SUPER affordable considering the average installation starts at 1,500$ He also recommended me to buy 2 new sensors (upstream/downstream) specifically the brand Denso with the sku # parts. These both totaled around 220$. Mr. Montoya did not charge me for installing the sensors. This whole process took about 5 hours to complete. I did not even wait to have my car taken of. At the end of the service, his son took my car out for a drive to make sure everything turned out okay. In the last 2.5 weeks, my engine light has not turned back on. Mr. Montoya seems like a genuine exhaust specialist. He was very kind and informative. Very nice customer/vehicle service :)
