Peppers is awesome. The crew working in there are outstanding. They greet you by name and remember you from previous visits. They make you feel valued as a customer. There are no pushy sales just honest information. You can trust these guys. You can also tell they are a good employer because their employees stick around. They always provide me a ride home when I drop my truck off for service. Even the district manager drove me home one day. It just shows they have a management team that’s willing to do work on the front lines as well. Just great overall. I couldn’t recommend them more.

Absolutely outstanding experience at Peppers Lemont Auto Care. I had rear-end work done on my Cadillac Escalade, and Ray and his crew went above and beyond. The work was done quickly, priced very fairly, and my truck drives perfectly. Honest, knowledgeable, and professional—everything you want in an auto shop. I highly recommend them and won’t be taking my vehicles anywhere else.

Knowing there is still an honest and high integrity auto shop out there who does great work, I’m honored to leave this review! Also while I was waiting in line one morning, a police officer was gifting the workers at Peppers with a box of donuts because they helped his wife when she was broken down on the side of the road with a flat tire.. that goes to show they’re consistent in their efforts of being a service to the community! I dropped my car off at Peppers on Tuesday for a fuel pump replacement and was told it would be ready Wednesday morning. Instead, I got two days of “it’s being test driven” with zero real updates despite calling multiple times. When I finally picked up my car Thursday, my FULL tank of gas had been drained to EMPTY with no explanation. This is especially unacceptable after being told by Peppers staff not to drive on empty because it can damage the fuel pump—yet they returned my car that way after a $900+ new fuel pump repair. At the very least, I would have expected a small amount of gas to be added so I could safely make it to a station. It gets worse: my check engine light came on immediately after picking up my car on Thursday. At this time I no longer trust Peppers so I call my old mechanic and explain the situation, he tells me what he believes needs to be done and I relay that to Peppers and return the car. I’ve since moved far away from my old mechanic which is why my car wasn’t taken there in the first place. Day 4 and I’m getting the same runaround Friday from Peppers—multiple calls, same “test driving” excuse, no communication. I had to push just to get my car back. By Sunday, the check engine light was back on. Now my car is at another shop, likely costing me even more money. As a new customer, this experience was beyond disappointing—poor communication, careless handling of my vehicle, and a repair that clearly wasn’t done right.

Customers have reported being quoted parts at nearly a 300% markup. When the pricing was questioned, the shop refused to continue repairs rather than address the concern. This raises serious issues around transparency and professionalism. Not recommended for those expecting fair pricing and honest service.
