State Street Collision - Geneva Illinois

Rare honesty. To give you an idea of how dishonest the competitors were before I came here, I've made a paragraph for the three other local competitors, and one for this company, below. 1) St. Charles Chrysler Dodge Jeep (Rt. 64) I needed a new battery, and they said that it would be over $600 for just the battery (DOUBLE what it should have been). They tried telling me that they'd have to use a used battery to get $300, but that I wouldn't get a warranty. So I just went to Firestone across the street, and got a brand new battery for $300 with a 3 year warranty. 2) Mavis Tires & Brakes (Randall) Guy said I needed new windshield wipers, so I asked him to show me. We went and looked at them, and they worked like new (because they were). 3) Jiffy Lube (State St, by Randall) They told me I needed new fog lights, so I checked myself, and they worked fine, then the guy got in the car while I was in front, and played with the switch to make them flicker. 4) State Street Collision First, I don't know Bill, the owner, no one referred me, and I'm a young guy that doesn't know anything about cars (easy target). I first went to Bill a year earlier after the fog light scam above. Bill inspected the fog lights, and said they were perfectly fine, so I hired him for some body stuff I'd been meaning to do, and he did a good job. His prices were also fair. So I went back to Bill for an inspection I wanted to get done before a road trip. He scheduled me the same day, and, instead of making up expensive garbage for me to fix, the mechanic, who also seemed like a straight-shooter, told me everything was fine, my brakes had a few thousand miles left (which was consistent with an earlier inspection I'd had), but my spark plugs were pretty worn, which made perfect sense for my mileage. I asked them to go ahead with the spark plugs. The total was under $200 (the inspection alone would have been $250 at the dealership). I'm very grateful to have found Bill/"State Street." I will certainly return for anything they can do, and refer anyone I can to them.

The corrosion repair and restoration paint work on my Mustang Bullitt is flawless. Bill suggested a new bumper cover when the road-weary original was removed and inspected. The technicians in the shop were very helpful and welcoming to me when I came back daily to look and take photos. The staff devoted extra effort into meeting my request to make the front end look factory fresh while blending it with the rest of the older finish. The color match is perfect in every light. Even with extra surprises in the work, Bill worked out a price I could afford. I am very pleased! Thank you!

This guy is awesome… very practical attention detailed orientated… cool car as well.. great value on modifying a roof rack that I was intimidated to do myself la full blown shop

I had a really positive experience at State Street Collision! It's refreshing to work with a business that delivers on their promises - especially in car repair where that's not always the case. A few highlights from MY recent experience: Owner (Bill) was straightforward and honest Completed the work earlier than promised (3 days instead of 4-5) Was competitively priced with other shops Delivered high-quality work, my dents are gone and work looks great. It's particularly noteworthy that he finished ahead of schedule - that's rare in the repair business and shows good management and commitment to customer service. He also was “no drama”. He told me to bring it in in a couple weeks. He didn't ask for a credit card or drivers license or blood test. I brought it in. He fixed it. I got the car back. I like dealing with honorable people, seems like that's missing today in the world.

Needed a brake line fix, had the car at suburban first they wanted to charge $2,700. Bleeders were seized up and they wanted to put in all new calipers, they also tried to upcharge me on a serpentine and non-existing bad tie rod ends for 500 which is ridiculous tie ends are $50 in parts. Had my car towed to State Street fixed the brake line for 180. I'll always recommend this garage
