Steve's Auto Repair

We recently (Oct 2025) had a car accident near Mountain Home. Steve's Auto Repair was recommended to us as the best place in town for repair. The tow truck driver said the same when I told him were we needed to take the car to. The repair shop managed to take our car into a bay when the tow truck arrived and put it on their lift to understand the extent of the damage. Shannon (sp?) had a good eye for what needed to be done and how to secure the parts. They recommended a hotel and took us there while working overtime to prep the car for when the parts would arrive the next morning and then they picked us up when the car was ready the next day. We were amazed at their kindness and their diligence to detail. They got the car repaired at the time they said it would be done. He mechanic test drove it on the freeway to verify that everything was straight and capable to be driven at highway speeds. We continued our trip and then returned to our home, putting in excess of 1200 miles on the repaired car. AND...I received a call today from them to see if we had made it home safely. How is that for service. We appreciate all they did, the quality of the repair and their follow-up. I would absolutely recommend them to anybody in that area needing repair for a very fair price.

I made an Appointment last Wednesday to replace a radiator on Monday, the car sat until Monday when I drove it to the shop. The mechanic was very nice and we talked very easily when I picked up the car, he told me he didn't see any leaks off of the water pump, or the back of the head, he said he took it for a road test as well. I live 2 miles away from the shop, and the car started to overheat when I was 2 minutes away from the shop. I parked the car in my driveway, and called the shop, the mechanic came to my house to see what was going on. Well, what's going on is I'm blowing white smoke and antifreeze out of my tailpipe, he told me Monday night that he would research the problem and get back to me on Tuesday. Tuesday I called him at about 2 PM because I hadn't gotten a call yet. He told me he ordered a test kit for exhaust gases in the cooling system and that it would be delivered the next day (April 29th, my birthday) well I waited until about 12:30 before I called the shop and the lady i spoke to was very nice, but told me the Mechanic was off today, and she'd leave a message with him for tomorrow (April 30th) So hopefully tomorrow morning I get a call, and they help me get this resolved, I'm not ready to say anything bad about the shop, at least not yet, but I don't understand why the mechanic would tell me that he'd be testing it Wednesday, when he's not even there. I'll be updating this post as we go along trying to resolve my situation. Update: today is Friday the 1st of May, I finally got ahold of the mechanic yesterday and he told me he believed it was a blown Head Gasket, and that it might not be worth getting fixed, but that he would call me Back yesterday afternoon, he didn't. I tried calling up there once so far today and the phone just rang, I'll try again in a short while, but all I'm looking for is some kind of compromise, I just spent over 500 bucks on a radiator Monday, I was told it wasn't leaking and that he even lifted the car to be sure of that in addition to a road test. Well, now it's 9:00 PM (May 1st) I made repeated calls today and nobody answered the phone. May 4th, mechanic sounded pained, but told me it would be 2500. To fix the car, couldn't finance the repair, and that I was just out of luck. A full week back and forth for nothing.

Went through auto zone on Saturday and my car was throwing a cylinder 5 misfire. Grabbed a sparkplug and on my way home saw Steve's. The bays were open but they were closed. Met Shannon (he was catching up on a backlog). He quick swapped my plug for me! Just an awesome guy. Check out their cool laser engraving services too!!

These guys are awesome! My 2016 gmc Sierra truck broke down in mountain home on my way to Utah, they got it fix in a record time and for a pretty decent price! I made it home safe and the truck it’s still running great, I’d strongly recommend them to anybody.
