Above and Beyond, A True Gem of a Service Experience! Referred by a family member, I brought my daughter’s Audi Q5 to Japanese Engine & Auto Service for a coolant flush, and left seriously impressed. Kerry (the Owner) not only handled the coolant service flawlessly, but he also noticed the oil was due for a change, saving us from a future dealership visit. He explained everything clearly, with no pressure and total transparency. What made the experience stand out was the atmosphere. Kerry greeted me with genuine warmth, a great sense of humor, and even offered me tea - even in the heat, I drink my favorite Ginger tea. It’s those thoughtful, personal touches that make a big difference. Kerry also complimented me on my positive energy, which completely made my day. I can’t say enough good things about Japanese Engine and Auto Repair. I originally brought them an engine I had purchased online, but after they installed it, the car wouldn’t start. Kari went above and beyond—she pulled the engine back out, helped me diagnose the issue, and provided proof that the engine had water damage. Thanks to her help, I was able to get a full refund on that engine. They then installed a quality refurbished engine that runs great. While they had the car, they also diagnosed and repaired an HVAC issue I’d been dealing with. The team kept me updated every step of the way and did everything with honesty and professionalism. If You Love Short-Term Fixes and Long-Term Headaches, This Is the Place You ever wonder why this place has so many 5-star reviews? Simple – the owner deletes all the bad ones. This is hands down the worst engine service experience I’ve ever had. I brought my car in for what I was told would be a full engine replacement. The owner – who, despite the name, isn’t Japanese (he’s Korean) – quoted me nearly $5,000. Sounded fair for a full replacement, right? Turns out, he never actually replaced the engine. He just patched things up inside without telling me, then handed the car back like the job was done. Three months later? Same exact issue came back. When I took it back, he said it wasn’t his fault and told me to go to another shop. No responsibility. No refund. No fix. So, I paid $5,000 for a temporary band-aid that didn’t even last a season. Stay far away. You’d better take your car to somewhere else

Took my car because the heater was not working back in January. After a whole week of taking it back and forth, it was finally fixed but the light on the dashboard was on for the seat belt. I came back just to be told he was busy to come back another day. Very rude and didn't let me finish explaining. Thanks to him, I still have my seat belt alert on since January. Then all of sudden my car got more problems after taking it to him but I decided to go elsewhere. He definitely tries to scam people, and really lures you with his "discount." Don't get fooled with his calm demeanor, if you keep coming back for HIS mistakes he'll be very dismissive.
