I can’t say enough good things about A-1 I Transmission. I originally took my car to Hyundai because it was hesitating and felt like it wouldn’t switch gears. They told me I needed a whole new transmission. I brought my car to Floyd at A-1 Transmission for a second opinion, and the very next day he called to tell me it was NOT the transmission — it was my catalytic converter. He replaced it with a 3-year warranty, while Hyundai quoted double the price with only a 12-month warranty. Over the years, I’ve brought multiple cars to A-1 Transmission for different services, and I’ve always been satisfied with both the honesty and the pricing. Floyd is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and truly looks out for his customers. I wouldn’t take my car anywhere else.

Would give 0 STARS If I could. Very UNPROFESSIONAL and NONCHALANT. I dropped my car off 10/16/2025 at 2:30 pm. The shop closes at 6:30 pm. Floyd told me that he’d look at my vehicle before the end of the day and call me by the end of that day or early the next morning. The shop opens at 8:30 am I called at 10:00 am , they were just then pulling my car up to look at it , FLOYD TOLD ME HE’D CALL ME BACK IN AN HOUR. Hours went by and he never returned my call like he said he would. I had to call him back at 2:00 pm. After he gave the diagnostic I told him I’d be back later to pick up my car. I got to the shop at exactly 4:00 pm. One of the guys in the next shop over told me Floyd and his son had left for lunch 30 minutes ago. I called 3 times , he ignored all 3 calls so I left a voicemail (this is his personal line by the way). I called my aunt to tell her what was going on at 4:43 pm , he answered her call which means he purposely ignored all of mine. When she asked when he would be returning he lied and said that he had JUST LEFT THE SHOP, when I had been there since 4:00 and another customer that came back said he’d come earlier around 3:30. He told her that he’d take another 30-45 minutes to get back. Upon walking up to my car , I realized the entire car was UNLOCKED. I called him a fourth time to see if he’d answer because he answered my aunt , which he did and told me the same lie about just leaving. He got upset when I told him the man in the other shop was the one that told me when he left for lunch and how long he had been gone. He then proceeded to lie again and say when he left the first time, he left for parts and THEN went to go get lunch, and proceeded to say “you must not understand how this works”. I told him that was not the point and that I told him before getting off the phone with him at 2:00 that I was coming back to get my vehicle. Even if I didn’t give a specific time , do you really think it was appropriate to be gone for 2 hours leaving no one here , knowing that someone was coming back to get their car? Then when I expressed the concerned about my car being unlocked , which the other customer that came by said he felt uneasy about his car being unlocked as well, Floyd responded with “So” and said he didn’t care because he leaves his cars unlocked and has cameras. Walked up to his son’s car to see if it was unlocked and it WASN’T. I then said the cameras only would’ve been helped to me AFTER somebody got into my car and stole all my belongings. He then proceeded to rush me off the phone and told me I’d be waiting for another 45 minutes. Talked with the other customer that had the same problem as me, he was quoted $3200 and went to check at his job (O’Reilys) and they quoted him. $1900. I was quoted $6250 + tax. So it also seems like he’s in the business of overcharging. I will never ever be back. My aunt said he was rude and nonchalant with her too and was literally smacking in her ear while eating his food. Just because of the customer service alone , I would recommend this place to NOBODY !!! Terrible first experience. Update : when I called in the morning and he said he was lifting my vehicle to inspect it , IT WAS A LIE , the man just made it back to the shop at 5:48 pm. He gave me a BLANK PAPER , no diagnosis, no reason , just the $6250 + tax that he quoted me. When I asked what the diagnostic was and how do you know what the issue is he told me verbatim “ I drove it for a couple miles and that’s how I know you need a new transmission.” But on the phone earlier , he told me my belt was worn/going out, BUT YOU NEVER LOOKED AT ANYTHING!!! This entire experience has been a headache. He also didn’t make me pay for my diagnostic which is also why I feel it’s a bunch of BS!

Update: Took my car to Floyd he told me immediately after only driving my car and nothing else that I needed a whole new transmission. Quoted me $6250+tax . What I didn’t tell him is that my transmission is only 3 months old brand new LOL. Took it to the Nissan dealership after picking it up from his yard because after his behavior I just did not trust his judgement, knew he was wrong, and just wanted an actual professional opinion. YOU GUYS I HAVE CLOGGED FUEL INJECTORS AND NEEDED A FUEL INDUCTION AND CLEANING !!!! ALL MY PROBLEMS WERE FUEL RELATED AND THIS MAN TOLD ME HE WAS 100% SURE I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I would’ve been robbed of almost $7000 had I trusted Floyd and replaced my transmission 😂 y’all better stop coming here! The man at Nissan that handled my vehicle literally laughed out loud when I told him Floyd said I needed a new transmission. And I honestly feel like that man is racist but hey , that’s just my opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️
