I've been going to Roy's for tire repairs for several years. The people who work for Roy have always been professional and polite. I visited yesterday and met the owner himself, Roy, for the first time. He was the opposite of professional and polite. He was unfriendly, rude, and unprofessional from start to finish. When he finished patching a hole in my tire, he charged $25 and told me to never have a plug put in my tire again because they're no good. I also didn't see him measure how much air he put in the tire when he finished and asked him. He was walking ahead of me at the time and was clearly annoyed and condescending to me when I didn't hear his reply and asked the second time. "I ALREADY TOLD YOU!" was his response. He again told me that tire plugs are no good. That's when I told him I'd paid $20 for a plug at HIS TIRE SHOP. It didn't stop him from charging me $25 to fix the same nail hole again. So it cost a total of $45 to finally have the leak fixed. I purchased a set of solid brass valve caps for my tires recently. It wasn't until I walked to the car this morning that I realized he never put the brass valve cap back on or any cap at all. On top of rudeness and condescending behavior, that's just plain sloppy work. I went back to retrieve the missing cap today, Friday, but the shop was closed and Roy was nowhere to be seen, during the usual business hours. It's the 3rd time I've visited during business hours, only to find no one there. I was planning to purchase a brand new set of tires at Roy's Tire Shop, even after Roy's rude behavior. But that was before I discovered he couldn't even be bothered to put a valve cap back on the tire. I'll be using someone else's tire repair services in the future and will buy the next set of tires at a professional shop that understands the concept of friendly, decent quality customer service. No more Roy's Tire Shop for me.
