Came here to get some work done on my first engine rebuild as they came highly recommended by everyone I asked, had my head and block resurfaced and got my cylinders rehoned and crankshaft polished as well, they did excellent absolutely amazing work in a timely manner and were able to order quality parts for my engine I couldn’t find anywhere else, also broke a piston ring upon assembly and called them up and they were able to get me a new set in less than 2 days. whether you need work done, machining or parts you just can’t seem to find I highly recommend them!

We've got a runner! I brought in my block with a TSP rotating assembly and got a hone for mains, torque plated, bored for .040 over, and bottom end assembled. Happy with the work, cranks right up!

Warning to Anyone Considering Scott’s Auto Machine & Parts, 359 E Lanier Ave, Fayetteville, GA 30215– DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR ENGINE MACHINING SERVICES. If I was lying I would not have takin the time to write this detailed long post. The disrespect and horrible service touched me to the core. I regret to say that my recent experience with Scott’s Auto Machine & Parts and Scott the owner has been deeply disappointing and unacceptable — enough for me to strongly warn other engine builders, car enthusiasts, and businesses: do not take your engine here if you care about quality, professionalism, or accountability. I brought them a 6.2L LS engine to perform several very specific services: ✔️ Hone the main bores for ARP main studs ✔️ Inspect and hone the cylinders (or bore if necessary) ✔️ Balance the rotating assembly ✔️ Polish the crankshaft Having used them in the past, I trusted their work enough to pick up the engine a month and a half later when they called and said it was done — without inspecting the parts on-site. That was my mistake. What I Found Upon Inspection: 🔧 Cylinder hone work was a complete failure. There were visible inconsistencies, and residue still remained at the top of the bores — clear evidence of a careless job. 🔧 Crankshaft journals still measured stock. No signs of polishing. 🔧 ARP main stud kit I supplied was returned incomplete — nuts missing. 🔧 No documentation or measurements provided to show what was checked, measured, or machined. When I Called the Business: I spoke with Scott (the owner) directly. When I asked if they had any pre- or post-measurements to support the work performed, he flat-out said they didn’t measure anything. How can a machine shop possibly hone or polish anything without measuring?! This shows a complete lack of professionalism and precision. When I asked about the cylinder hone quality, he admitted it was hand-honed. I hand honed the cylinders myself to correct the poor quality and included pictures below. I offered to send Scott the pictures of the bad work so he can discuss with me and see what I was referring to, and he responded, “I don’t have a computer at the shop — only check emails at home.” He still didn’t provide a email so he could see them when he gets home. Completely unprofessional for any business, let alone one working with high-performance engines. Final Thoughts: After that response, I didn’t even bother to bring up the missing ARP hardware. There was clearly no accountability, interest in resolving anything nor interest in the quality of work and service given then nor going forward. Needless to say, I was frustrated, disrespected, and cheated. If you are building an LS engine — or any engine — stay far away from Scott’s Auto Machine & Parts, 359 E Lanier Ave, Fayetteville, GA 30215. There are far more companies that care about their quality of service, competent and reputable out there that actually measure, document, and stand behind their work. From experience, Scott’s Auto Machine & Parts is not one. I called Scott in reference to to resurfacing the cylinder head on my truck. I dropped it off and he had it ready in less than an hour ! Reinstalled and everything was perfect. I will do business again, thank you !
