Butler Tires and Wheels

I just had four Michelin Pilot All-Season ZP tires put on my 2013 Corvette Grand Sport. The work was done at the Chamblee location for Butler Tire in Atlanta, Ga. Jermaine, a 20 plus year tire changing expert, did the work. The work was flawless and just as important, he took the time to share with me his insights in to the tires. Fantastic experience!

I took my 2013 Grand Sport Corvette to Butler Tire in Chamblee yesterday for four new Michelin Pilot 4 All-Season ZP (run-flat) tires and an all-wheel alignment, and I couldn't be happier. It is incredibly hard to find a shop that can handle the wide tires of a Corvette correctly, but the team here did a beautiful job—absolutely zero scratches on the wheels and perfectly balanced. Seth Jones, the store manager, guided us through the entire process from start to finish. He even sent a follow-up text afterward to ensure the work was done exactly to our specifications. While waiting, I noticed Seth and his team giving that same level of great customer service to everyone who walked through the door. It’s easy to see why so many Corvette owners in the Atlanta area trust Butler Tire. Strong prices, top-tier service, and a team that truly cares about their work. I really don’t enjoy writing reviews like this, and I understand mistakes happen but at this point, I feel I don’t have any other choice and I am tired of chasing management to do the right thing and fulfill their word. I purchased a $3,935.49 wheel and tire package on 9/23 that was sized and sold by the GM. When I arrived for installation on 9/27, I was told it would take about an hour and a half. Three hours later, they told me the tires were too big and rubbed, but that replacements would be swapped out that day. By closing, they admitted no replacements were available and told me to drive home with the rubbing tires, which was highly unsafe and damaged my wheel wells. When I got home, I also found two dents in my rear bumper where they had back my truck into something with force that bent my bumper up and took paint off as well. After sending pictures, the GM later admitted their team caused it and said they’d replace the bumper. I missed work bringing it back, was denied a rental car, and was talked into a 1.75” lift kit ($1,051.50) that they guaranteed would fix the rubbing. It didn’t. They also refused to give me my keys until I paid, even though the bumper still wasn’t repaired. After paying under pressure, I drove away and the truck still rubbed badly. I had to bring it back again, rent a car at my own expense, and leave it for several days for damage repair and resizing. The GM apologized and said he and his supervisor would “make it right” and compensate for devaluation of my truck from damage, unnecessary product purchases / labor, and money out of my own pocket. After multiple follow-ups and no returned calls, I finally reached the GM at the shop and was told there would be no compensation approved from his management at parent company Tire Discounters. I wish this had gone differently. I understand things go wrong, but between the damage, missed work, extra costs, and being sold an unnecessary lift, this experience has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Butler is supposed to be a premium service where they stand behind their work which is why I took my truck and paid a premium price. My experience was the complete opposite with exception of paying a premium price. UPDATE: After filing complaints with multiple customer advocacy groups and writing letters to Butler Tire parent company executives, the CEO of Tire Discounters and Founder intervened and arranged delivery on my original purchase. While I am grateful to finally have what I paid for months ago, I would rate the experience poorly as it shouldn't take this much personal time and effort to simply do the right thing.

The guys working there are very friendly, and I appreciate that—they do seem like good people. But their slogan, “We will baby your car,” couldn’t be further from the truth in my case. I brought my truck in to get a tire patched, and while they didn’t charge me (since the puncture didn’t go all the way through), I left with a severely scratched and damaged wheel. It looks like the tire machine tore it up, and honestly, it’s extremely frustrating. I take a lot of pride in my truck, and to see the wheel come out looking like that — with deep scratches and obvious carelessness — was really upsetting. It feels like no care was taken with my vehicle at all, and that’s just unacceptable. If you claim to “baby” people’s cars, then you should treat them with the respect and attention that slogan implies.

I highly recommend this company. I live in Florida but was working at Skybound this month and of course, I picked up a screw in my tire and then my tire pressure sensors went out. I reached out to Butler Tire and spoke with Seth. I explained I was on time constraint and he said bring the vehicle in and he would drive me to work so they would have time to fit me in their schedule. I did just that. I was met by Kamar along with Seth. Both were gracious and understanding of my needs. Not only did they do everything they said they went above and beyond. I may not live in Atlanta, but I will be back when I need another set of tire for my Tahoe.
