I had a transmission replaced here in September 2025 and was told it would be a bench rebuilt transmission sourced from a rebuilder in Chattanooga with a 3-year unlimited mile warranty. I paid over $5,600 for the work. When I picked up the vehicle, I did receive an invoice that included a hand written warranty stating “3 years unlimited miles,” and it also stated the warranty was only valid through Simpson Auto. The invoice did not include any identifying information about the transmission itself — no supplier name, no part number, no serial number, and no documentation confirming that a rebuilt transmission was installed. Within hours of picking up the vehicle, it was leaking fluid and I had to bring it back for repair. After that, I repeatedly asked for documentation showing where the transmission came from and proof that it was a rebuilt unit, but I never received anything beyond the invoice. I ultimately took this matter to small claims court. I provided a detailed timeline, records of my repeated requests for documentation, and written inspection statements from AAMCO and other mechanics indicating that the transmission installed appeared consistent with a used or salvage unit rather than a rebuilt transmission. There was overspray on my vehicle wherre they painted the bottom, which they claim they do to prove its the transmission they installed. However, the court ruled in favor of the defendant because those mechanics were not present in court to testify in person, so their written statements were not considered admissible evidence and instead "hearsay" During the hearing, the defendant was not required to provide documentation showing where the transmission was purchased. The only information provided was that it came from a place he referred to as “Fortify,” but no verifiable documentation or supplier details were produced. After the court case, I attempted to contact the shop again to have the vehicle repaired under the warranty I was told I had. At this point, I am not receiving any response to my calls or messages. Based on the condition of the transmission, including visible markings consistent with salvage yard parts and the issues the vehicle has experienced, I have ongoing concerns that the transmission installed is not a bench rebuilt unit as originally represented. I am sharing my personal experience so others understand the importance of getting full documentation for major repairs — including proof of purchase, supplier information, and clear warranty support — before and after work is completed. And find a trustworthy shop, not this one! I have since become aware of other customers raising similar concerns about documentation and failed repairs, which reinforces the importance of verifying details before proceeding with major work.

Josh and his team are amazing! I can always depend on him to be there for my auto repair needs. Is very kind and very empathetic to every situation that I have been in. He’s not only worked on my vehicle, but also my daughter‘s vehicle and he Has never kept my car long, always gave me an estimate the same day and was even willing to work with me at times when I wasn’t able to pay full price upfront. These guys seriously saved me today. I was driving back on I-75 with a horrible grinding/banging noise when braking — turned out a caliper bolt was completely missing and the brake assembly was shifting. I pulled in and they got me in right away, diagnosed it quickly, and had it fixed in about 20 minutes. Could have been a dangerous situation if I kept driving. Fast, honest, and knew exactly what they were doing. Couldn’t have asked for better service.
