I inherited a 2002 dodge pick up with only 62,000 miles on it a few years ago. The truck belong to my father, who let it sit in the NJ snow for long periods of time due to the fact he had a second car, and his health was failing. I brought the car to GA but it still had major issues with rust on the undercarriage on the brake line system, also major electrical problems. For example, if you blew the horn, the windshield wiper would come on, or if you turned on your radio, the left blinker would start blinking and a host of other electrical issues. I brought the car twice to two different Dodge dealerships for them to charge me an excess of $600 just to be told they couldn’t fix the electrical problems. I coincidently met one of the guys from brakes and wheels who told me he had a 1999 Dodge Dakota that runs like a charm I said no way! I brought my car to then and within a week they returned my car, which now only has 64,000 miles on it for a 2002, running perfectly with no electrical problems, brakes working, horn working, windows, and much safer for the new driver in my house to drive once she gets her license!

I came back to update my review from three years ago. This place used to be great, and I used to come here often. Unfortunately, my experience changed after several issues with the work done on my car. On more than one occasion, tools were left under my hood, and bolts on my alternator were not tightened properly. I also had my O2 sensors “replaced,” yet my check engine light remained on afterward. A new mechanic later confirmed that some of the repairs had only been partially completed. They were able to properly fix the issues that should have been addressed the first time. As a result, I spent hundreds of dollars without my car actually being repaired correctly. Based on my experience, I would recommend considering other options before bringing your vehicle here.
View on GoogleI recently had the pleasure of bringing my car to Jamal at Jay's Brake and Wheel, and I can't say enough good things about my experience! I was dealing with a frustrating slow leak that was causing my car to run hot, and after trying to get it fixed elsewhere with no success, I was relieved to find Jamal and his team. From the moment I walked in, I was met with professionalism and a genuine desire to help. Jamal quickly diagnosed the issue and promptly got to work on fixing it. What impressed me the most was the thoroughness of their service; they not only fixed the leak but also took the time to test the car to ensure it wouldn’t run hot again. It was clear that they truly care about the safety and satisfaction of their customers. I left feeling confident in my vehicle and grateful to have found such a reliable shop. I will definitely be returning for any future needs and will happily recommend Jay's Brake and Wheel to all my friends and family. Thank you, Jamal, for your outstanding service! You’ve earned a loyal customer!
View on GoogleBeen coming here for years since back when I lived in Ben Hill and these guys have always taken great care of me. I live in Kennesaw now and I still bring my cars here and Kennesaw ain't close so what's that tell you? Not sure why I never wrote a review but it's long overdue. When I need my truck fixed I expect it to be FIXED, not have to bring it back in a few days because there's still something wrong with it. That has never happened at Jay's. When they do a repair they are always straight up with me and let me know exactly what I'm facing as far as how much it will cost. You have to respect it when somebody can give you bad news yet still make it easy to take. That ain't easy to do but Jay is the master. He's a straight shooter and always tells the truth. All I ask of a mechanic is keep it real with me and that's all he's ever done and that's why he gets my business. Anybody who had a bad experience here it was probably your fault and that's facts. Best auto shop in Atlanta bar none.
View on GoogleI waited 30 minutes for someone to open the business doors. I was the only person outside until a white man pulled up asking me what time do they open. I said, supposedly 9am but here we are at 9:20am waiting for service. My vehicle was there overnight due to me needing a new alternator. The owner did not care to ask who was first, instead he immediately starting assisting the white man. Although this establishment is around the corner from my home, I decided back in 2022 to stop patronizing this place. Why? The place is very unclean, the owner is nonchalant and act as if you owe him something, they screw up your car and keep trying to blame other things instead of just taking ownership and fixing the problem that you paid for with no problem, and he wanted to charge me for labor when no services was provided due to the part not fitting my car. What mechanic puts in the work to replace a car part without inspecting the part first? I'm paying for your expertise not dishing out monies so you can charge me twice! Folks are struggling bad out here! Now, I have to go back to this place because my car isn't starting yet again, it's been less then 14 days and I thought the problem was resolved. Lastly, my key fob no longer works properly after they had it and I never had to experience a mechanic giving me the old part. Like, what am I'm going to do with it? It can be hard trying to support your own when they don't see you as the same. Further disappointment is trying to support a black owned business, but the unprofessional and rudeness is uncalled for towards your own. Keep that same energy for the white man too Jamal!
