We had been bringing our other vehicle here for some time and believed this was a trusted small business. Because of that, I felt comfortable bringing in another car for what should have been a simple service: new brakes only. When I dropped the car off, the owner said, “I’ll tell you what you need.” Looking back, that should have been my first red flag. After several hours, additional repairs were suggested. Based on a previous bad experience with another vehicle, we reluctantly agreed to one additional item. When we picked the car up, it immediately began making loud noises and vibrations it never had before. At first, I assumed new brakes might need minor adjustment, but to be safe we brought it back. They kept the car all day again, only to say it now needed even more work and that it “wasn’t their fault—anything can go bad at any time.” That response caused a lot of frustration and anxiety and seriously made us question their integrity. Our car did not have these issues before the service. We ultimately chose not to let them touch our vehicle again. We are a family, and we shouldn’t have to worry about being taken advantage of by a shop that inspects vehicles and then tells customers “what they need” after the fact. I’ve felt aggravated, sad, and confused by this experience. I used to refer people here—never again.

Got it — here’s a professional, factual, but clearly negative review that sticks to your experience and avoids anything that could be dismissed as emotional or exaggerated. You can post this on Google, Yelp, or with your insurance company. ⸻ ⭐☆☆☆☆ I selected College Automotive to repair my truck following an accident, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing. The shop billed my insurance company for repairs that were either not completed properly or not completed at all. Specifically, the rack and pinion was billed as replaced, yet after experiencing continued issues, I sought three alignments and two independent second opinions, all of which confirmed that the rack and pinion was not functioning properly and may not have been replaced. Since the repair, my truck has been returned to College Automotive three separate times due to ongoing problems, including a knocking noise when turning left. The rack and pinion installed was a remanufactured part that should be under warranty, yet the shop has refused to honor the warranty or take responsibility for the faulty repair. Additionally, I was told the shop had communicated with my insurance company regarding these issues, which later proved to be untrue. I trusted this business with a major repair and relied on their honesty and workmanship. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability, refusal to warranty a clearly defective part, and misrepresentation of communication with my insurer make it impossible for me to recommend this shop.
View on GoogleThis a complete scam artist. Bought our son a Volvo, bring it to him to have it checked to ensure everything is good. Says it has a small oil cooler leak. Paid him $800 or so to fix it. Doesn’t get it done in the time he said it would and keeps brushing us off anytime we call to see what’s going on. “Ordered the wrong part” bull crap. Get the car back and they don’t even reattach the skid plate entirely when giving it back (to which he states that tech no longer works there - affirmation that there was clearly an issue with the work they are doing). Get the car home and immediately the AC goes out. He says to bring it back. We do and then he likely BS’d us again as he says it was just an air bubble in the line after they refilled it when fixing the oil cooler. Couple weeks pass and guess what AC GOES OUT AGAIN! We call and he says to us that the oil cooler has nothing to do with the AC. How does that make any sense, as he literally worked on it stating that it was an air bubble issue that they caused while fixing a this supposed leak in the oil cooler. Complete and total lie. This is also after paying him to replace the starter as well that went out, admittedly that likely went out due to typical wear and tear - not trying to attribute something to the issues that doesn’t apply. This is on top bringing my ford expedition to him for an oil pump issue. States he fixed it and truck is misfiring now when accelerating beyond 65 mph. We have given this man 1000’s of dollars we don’t have. His ultimate response was to sue him. Complete and total dirtbag. DO NOT GIVE THIS MAN YOUR CAR, HE WILL WILL RUIN IT.
View on GoogleFar and away the best automotive specialists in the area. Dennis is an incredibly fair proprietor. Never inflates prices on parts or labor. Tommy, the lead mechanic, has been here forever and truly takes pride in what he does. The work is always excellent and they've never taken more than a day to address the primary issue. The guys also often do a thorough inspection and find things I wouldn't have even thought to look for. You'll easily save yourself hundreds making the right decision and coming here instead of any dealership. Top notch!
