D1 Auto Repair

I don’t typically leave reviews, but when the service is really BAD or really GREAT, you feel compelled to. I had my first and last very brief experience with this auto shop, and I’m very glad I didn’t end up getting any service here. I will never even drive by again. I stopped in on a weekday because my check engine light came on so I needed to see what the diagnostic was. A little background; first I went to an AutoZone and they performed the free engine check on my car. AutoZone was very upfront and printed out the report for me which stated the issue was most likely related to my O2 sensor which may need to be replaced. The report stated that my engine was running lean which caused a misfire. Well, I took that full transparent report to D1 Autoshop and explained everything to the owner, Andy. Andy’s response right away made me feel extremely dismissed. He plugged his diagnostic machine to my car, and very quickly said, “No. You need a tune up.” He was very blunt and didn’t seem to care really. He completely ignored the report that I had right in front of me from AutoZone, stating otherwise. I said, “so you’re telling me this report is wrong?” “Yes. You need a tuneup. $750.” Just like that, without considering my documents or even trying to look into it. I got the immediate feeling that he was straight up LYING to me. Not to mention the fact that I had gotten a tuneup on this car a few months ago already. I’m no mechanic, but I highly doubt a diagnostic report from a reputable company like AutoZone would just be flat out wrong and misdiagnose the issue completely. Andy was cold and curt. Then he just stared at me, as if to say, $750 take it or leave it. I promptly got into my car and drove away. As a woman, trying to navigate the complicated world of car repairs is already intimidating. These shops/mechanics think they can take advantage of you, overcharge and lie because you don’t know any better. That’s the feeling I got and it was awful. I drove around the block and found another shop that also gave me a diagnostic right there. “An Honest AutoRepair”, just what I need. HONESTY! That shop also confirmed the AutoZone report, that my car was running lean and it could be related to the O2 sensor. I’ve set up an appointment with them to look into it further and I feel better about who I’m dealing with now. I feel that Andy and D1 lied to me in an effort to take advantage, and I would never come to this place again. Stay away.

i’m a regular customer here i’ve gone here around 3 times thinking i could trust this place. i came in yesterday, explained my problem to andy, and without doing any tests said it was my starter that i had to replace. turns out it was a completely different problem and i didn’t even need to change my starter in the first place. he should’ve done some tests before guessing what the problem was and made me spend money for no reason. never coming here again.

Andy was a great technician owner very pleased and diagnosed my problem within a half hour. Got my parts and I was in and out front axles installed ..highly recommended..Andy.( KIA OPTIMA )

The owner of this shop (Andy) is prime reason why people commit insurance fraud. Andy rear ended my vehicle back in March. He first agreed to fix my vehicle at his body shop. After he hit my car days went by he never called to ask me how I was doing. I started experiencing minor back pain days later. I made him aware of it and asked if he’s willing to send me to a chiropractor to at least get a professional opinion. With no he hesitation, he stated "NO". After going back and forth with him he finally agreed to send me to a chiropractor and he even signed a paper stating that he would pay for any treatments. When I finally found a chiropractor that was willing to take me for out of pocket treatments, he told me that the amount that they were asking for was too much and he refuses to pay for it. He offered me $500 for a $3,000 bill. From the beginning, I told him that I did not want to sue him because he was corporative but he started bringing up his lawyer every time I brought up the treatment bill. After doing some research, I found out that the car that he was driving did not even belong to him. It was one of his customers car that he was test driving. When I told him that I was going to reach out to the owner of the vehicle for their insurance information to cover my treatments. He flipped out on me and stated that he will no longer give me the $500 he initially offered me. I got stuck with a $3,000 bill. He refused to answer any of my calls after that day. I cannot begin to tell you how disappointed I am that a human being would behave in such a way. I will never step foot in D1 auto body shop for any kind of service as long as Andy is running the body shop.

Absolutely love this auto shop. Everyone is friendly, Prices are perfectly reasonable, and they do top quality work. The owner Andy is awesome!!! My family and I have been going here for less than a year and we wouldn't take our cars anywhere else.
