They overquoted me for a simple job (3 Hours to replace shocks and struts @ 150 an hour) so 450$ in labor. I told them it should take an hour and it did. In my mind, great, it should be 1 hour @ 150/Hr as quoted about what I had in mind to pay (150-200). I also had them do an alignment for 90$. In the end he charged me 375$ for the shock replacement labor plus the 90$ for the alignment. I told him that wasn't what we had talked about, that he quoted me 150/Hr. In the end he was charging me 300/Hr since he had 2 guys working on it. To be fair it was true he had two guys working when one of the guys wasn't on his phone but 150/Hr for an assistant to a tech is not a reasonable price. All the guy did was take tires off and put them back on. This rubbed me the wrong way, between over quoting in the first place then double charging to get the job done correctly (realistically you need 2 guys to get this job done effectively). This job would have taken 30 minutes with 2 guys not charging by the hour, but it was clear to me that the guys were in no rush. In the future I recommend to negotiate a price before the work is done, don't just let a shop charge you by the hour because if they can take longer they will. A shop that really knows what they are doing will know the cost of a service and quote that service accordingly. The people there were nice and i understand the cost of doing business is not cheap, but the way that i was treated in the end felt unfair. I would not recommend this shop.

I knew Mel when he had a discount carry out tire outlet on Pebbroke Road back in the 70's & 80's, he sold out and they moved to Funston St & 441 offering a full service shop with multiple lifts & alignment machines. Still going there after all these years so that should tell you something. Their prices are less expensive then most tire companies.. Susan at the front desk is delightful & very virtual, give her your tire size and she will start pricing them up for you right over the phone from premium, mid range, moderate and least expensive. Nice thing is that they do quote over the phone, slip you in at a given time, your in and out & your wallets not empty. Give it a shot first, no commitmentp, do your comparative shopping make your decision. I'd give them four thumbs nut I only have two,!!_
