Very disappointed not only with the chroming that they did on my parts, but their communication is non-existent & is like pulling teeth to get updates. I shipped them 3 pieces to a motorcycle starter. The pieces were off a brand new $700 high end chrome starter, but I wanted show chrome on these starterspieces which is not how these starters come. I was quoted 6 weeks turnaround. They received my parts on 2/18/26 and I didn’t receive them back until 5/3/26……15 weeks. And it would have been longer if I hadn’t started calling once or twice a week and emailing them. Most of the times I called I wouldn’t get any answers to my questions if anyone answered rather they would just say they would have to check on them and get back to me (which they wouldn’t get back to me, meaning I just have to call them again later in the week or the next week, which it would be the same default answer they’d give me again. Most often I would get their voicemail and I’d leave message…..never once did the return my voicemail. I paid $375 to have the 3 chrome pieces done and it’s so upsetting bc it was a total waste of $375 of my hard earned money and a total was of 15 weeks of waiting. All 3 pieces have flaws in them, and we’re talking small pieces here about the size of your hand. The owner John told me one of the pieces he attempted to do 3 separate times and ever time they got blisters……and blames it on “bad metal”…..but in all honesty once receiving them all 3 pieces are unacceptable…..yet I still had to pay $375…..bc if you don’t pay you don’t get your parts back. Once of the parts arrived and still have a copper diode prong thing still welded to the back side of the part that they didn’t even have the decency to remove/cut off. They sent me 2 photos of the parts prior to shipping, but the photos look like they were taken with a 20 year old cell phone from 6 feet away so the bubbles, ghosting shadowy areas in the chrome and other flaws were not visible in the photos. The chrome that was on them when I sent them was better and had less flaws than what I got back. The pieces I sent had no bubbles in the chrome, yet what I got back had big bubbles it it that would move when you push on them with your fingernail. Awful. They should have been embarrassed to have charged me $375 for what they sent me. The problem isn’t the metal, the problem is their competency. Upon receiving the parts back I immediately (after seeing all the flaws) boxed them up and shipped them to Advanced Plating in Nashville, TN, which is probably the best in the country and who I should have went with to start with. I will not do business with them again. Poor quality chrome due to either incompetence or poor prep work, poor communication (absolutely will not reply to your emails unless you just stay on top of them constantly), waste of money and waste of time. Lesson learned. So incredibly frustrating to know I just wasted $375. I will tell everyone I know in the car and motorcycle industry to not use them and why.

From beginning to end this place kept me up to date in the process. My wheels came out great. It’s been a year from when I got them back my wheels still look good. John was very helpful. They even provided loaner wheels. Great product and great service.

Outstanding service, quality workmanship. Looks new! Excellent John took my call and assured me that the repair would not be noticeable, it's not. Nick swapped the wheel today! Saved me $1,000 for 1 new wheel, that nissan didn't have yet. The turn around time needed to repair the wheel was 5 business days, which was fine. I dropped the wheel off on Wednesday 9/17/25, knowing the weekend was coming up. I checked in with John, today, Tuesday 9/24/25. He got back to me and said the wheel was being mounted... he says, "how about today" I told John that would be great. I'm just amazed at how good the wheel looks. The powder coat matches the other wheels and there were absolutely no blemishes on the repaired wheel. John also loaned me a full size wheel until mine was done. I can't say enough about Nick either. He is so friendly and meticulous when working. He showed me photos of the repair process/progress which I thought was awesome! Thank you California Chrome, John and Nick! My experience with CalChrome has been excellent. From my first contact through which I requested an estimate to receipt of the finished wheel and pulley, John and CalChrome have been phenomenal. I contacted CalChrome and requested an estimate to chrome the rear wheel on my 2006 Harley Springer Softail. John got right back to me with an estimate and a description of the process. I spoke with John two times during the process and Anita once and they were both available, friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I sent the wheel and pulley to CalChrome. The wheel and pulley are OEM parts with a dull and textured finish and I wanted to have them chromed to really stand out. John sent photos of the finished product and they looked like they had a mirrored finish. I received the package containing the wheel and pulley today and the finish on the wheel and pulley exceeded my expectations. The finish is better in person than in the photos and the photos were great! CalChrome did an awesome job and I recommend them without reservation!

CalChrome and John did a spectacular job! Did everything he said he was going to do exactly the way he said he was going to do it. The results were spectacular! I’ve worked with other chrome plating companies and his product and service is superior in every way and an excellent price. It was a bit of a process with my not living in the area and having to ship wheels to California, and then have them shipped back to me when they were done, but John made it easy. I highly recommend them! And I am an extremely picky customer. Thanks, John!
