Tesla Service Montebello

These guys really took care of me in a pinch and I can't express enough thanks. The technician ran into an issue on my older Tesla that warranted a call and patiently explained the issue to me even sending pictures through the Tesla App of the problem. They got the service done for me correctly and now my car is safer to drive than when it came in. Thanks guys, great attention to detail. Would come here again :)

I had a disappointing experience at the Tesla Montebello Service Center. My car, which is only 1.5 years old, would not supercharge, so I tested multiple superchargers at different locations to rule out charger issues. The problem was clearly not regular charging, as I was able to charge normally at home the night before. Since Tesla Superchargers do not allow slow charging, I was unable to charge at all. My battery level was critically low, and I couldn’t safely drive home. After contacting Tesla Roadside Assistance without resolution, I went to the service center and explained that this was a serious charging failure, not a routine issue. After waiting about 20 minutes, a technician briefly checked the car, plugged it in momentarily, and told me everything was fine and that I needed to schedule a service appointment. There was no real diagnosis or urgency, despite the fact that I was nearly stranded. I had to insist on charging the car enough to get home. This experience fell well short of the service standard Tesla promotes.

I recently had my vehicle serviced at the Montebello center, and I cannot praise my Tesla Advisor, Danny, enough. From start to finish, the entire experience was completely seamless, and that is entirely thanks to them. Danny is the absolute definition of a professional. Their communication was stellar throughout the entire process—they kept me updated every step of the way so I was never left wondering about the status of my car. On top of being incredibly efficient, Danny is exceptionally friendly and approachable, making what could have been a stressful service appointment a genuinely pleasant experience. They went above and beyond to ensure I was completely taken care of and that all my questions were answered. If you are heading to the Montebello service center, ask for Danny. Tesla needs more advisors like them! Thank you, Danny, for the outstanding service!

I was very disappointed with my experience at this Tesla Service Center. I was visiting from Canada on a long-distance road trip. The night before, while trying to charge my vehicle, I discovered that my Tesla was unable to use Supercharging. I contacted Tesla Roadside Assistance, and the roadside staff were professional and helpful. They understood that I was traveling and that I planned to go to Disneyland the next day. They even asked whether I was staying near Disneyland and recommended a closer service center for my situation. Roadside Assistance also told me that the service center would provide the necessary loaner vehicle for my situation. However, what actually happened at this service center was completely different from what Roadside Assistance had told me. In my opinion, the way the service center staff handled the situation appeared very unprofessional and inconsistent with Tesla Roadside Assistance’s guidance. The next morning, I went to the service center as instructed by Roadside Assistance. A staff member took me to the charging station at the service center and charged my vehicle briefly. After that, he said everything appeared to be normal and told me they could not inspect the vehicle at that time. I explained that I was a traveler from Canada, not a local resident, and that being unable to Supercharge made it very difficult to continue my road trip. The advisor told me I could leave the vehicle there, but they would not be able to inspect it until Monday or Tuesday, even though I arrived on Friday. They also said a loaner vehicle would only be available on Monday or Tuesday. This meant I could potentially be without a vehicle for three days, which was extremely difficult because I was traveling with a young child and could not simply rely on Uber or rideshare services. I asked them to check with a manager because this was a special situation. I also explained that I had a young child with me and that we had travel plans to Disneyland. However, the staff member responded in a very blunt and dismissive way. He basically told me that even if I had a child, and even if I had Disneyland plans, they still could not help me because they had no available time to inspect the vehicle. At one point, they also mentioned that even if they gave me a loaner vehicle, I would not be allowed to take it out of California. I said that was fine and that I could accept this restriction. However, after checking again, they still said they could not provide same-day service or a loaner vehicle. I also noticed from Google reviews that another customer seemed to have experienced a similar issue. That customer also mentioned that the staff at this location simply told them to make an appointment and come back later. After that, I immediately went to another Tesla Service Center. The staff there were extremely professional, friendly, and helpful. They inspected my vehicle quickly, confirmed the issue, and arranged a loaner vehicle so I could continue my trip. Based on my experience, the way this service center handled the situation and the overall quality of customer service were very disappointing. I understand that service centers can be busy, but for travelers who experience charging issues during a long road trip, especially families traveling with young children, there should be better communication, more flexibility, and a more helpful attitude.

Very disappointing experience. My rear center seat area has a persistent rattle. I was able to reproduce it during the visit, and the technician acknowledged that the noise was there. However, because the noise was “not very loud” and became smaller when someone sat in the rear seat, they said it was too difficult to pinpoint and did not want to proceed further. The issue clearly exists, but their response was basically to wait until it gets worse and come back later. That is not an acceptable way to handle a known problem.
