ATC Independent Toyota Lexus Scion.

My brake lights were on so I called and asked for estimates based on what could be wrong with my brakes. I was told that he could not give me ANY possible underlying causes until he sees it and said I did not understand and was arguing with the mechanic, but as an experienced mechanic, you can’t just give different hypotheses and time estimates based off previous experience? Is that so hard? Then I called next door to Midas and they easily gave me 3 possible things that could be going on with my brakes and gave me time estimates based off of those. Very simple ask that ATC could not answer and even got angry at me for. So no, I do understand. It is you that lacks patience and generosity with your customers, so you will continue to lose them. Go elsewhere for your needs as this shop obviously lacks patience and wants to lock you into their shop by withholding information and keeping your vehicle with them.

A little upset that my very dear relatives *always* recommending him to me, saying he is known for a good service and good price and not minding his attitude. And I try to be a loyal customer and always come back when I came back to Diamond Bar(3 times + for big maintainance and other stuffs) -- but the car shop owner simply couldn't remember me and always treated me like a unknown customer and priced high... I got the same service at American tire depot for free; another time called AAA, the guy came with me and talked for me and able to save it to $30 to screw something down there. It is very low compared to what he will charge me if that guy was not there... Well, so if you are first time, no connections and not knowledgeable about car, think him like a dealer ship level mechanic then you would be more ready what you will got. Lots of official paper works after service, not low on price, and decent work. He is professional and will answer all your questions.

Thank you Mr. Hami for taking time to talk to us not only about 2008 Lexus RX-350 but also to try to understand our situation. Having been serving in the mission field for the past 9 years in Southeast Asia, we are only driving the car a few months a year. Understanding our circumstances, Mr. Hami took a quick inspection and gave us a few recommended repairs. But he didn’t push us to decide, instead he worked with us in selecting what was the more urgent needed repairs and put on hold those repairs which can wait a little bit longer so that we can accumulate more budget to take care of the rest of repairs. For that, we want to say: “thank you Mr. Hami.”

This repair shop has no reason to be trusted. I took my car in for repairs, and the owner told me it would need to stay overnight at his shop. Two hours after I left, he called me saying that the water pipe on the engine needed to be replaced. I asked him how much it would cost and if the car would be drivable after the replacement. He quoted me $800, but said they wouldn’t know if the car was fixed until after the repair. I decided to get a second opinion from other shops, and they told me the replacement, with all original parts, would only cost $40. I was furious because other shops could make a profit at $40, but this place was charging $800. I refused to have the work done and tried to take my car back, but I was still charged a $150 minimum fee. However, the repair invoice showed no work was done on the car at all. What upset me the most was when I told the owner I didn’t want to have the repairs done at his shop because he was charging too high， he responded with a very rude attitude: “Is this your business or mine?” I sincerely hope no one else has to be treated this way in the future

I came here for some work to be done that was more reasonable than what the Toyota dealer quoted me. The owner was very detailed with the work and helpful. Will return to continue my car maintenance rather than the dealership.
