I had my transmission go and needed a shop. I reached out to a trusted mechanic I’d used in the past and they recommended Gil’s. I did my due diligence and shopped around, but felt good about the quote and the service rep (Jose). I dropped the truck off Thursday and had it back the next Wednesday. I saw the part that broke and felt confident these gentlemen knew what they were doing. I’ve had the truck almost a week now and it feels brand new. Most importantly, they offer a 1 year/12,000 mile warranty which is worth it considering how complex transmissions are. Jose was honest and professional. I appreciate the work they did and hope my transmission gives me years of reliable service.

The owner is not lenient or least understanding. I couldn't afford to do the repairs so I asked if I can leave my truck there until I can get it towed on Thursday. He told me 30 a day which I am okay with and then turned it into a hundred and kept asking me every 30 minutes for his pay,my tow truck driver if I paid him yet(I got the car junked so he kept asking for pay from him). He is very pushy and stubborn. You can keep your 100 since your that desperately need it.

I am SO glad I took my car to Howard at Gils Transmission. He was VERY knowledgeable, and he offered me two choices on how to fix my car. He told me I could have it rebuilt or buy a used one (I chose to have mine rebuilt). I got my car back within 3 days as promised; and his rate was VERY reasonable (it was MUCH better than a couple of other places that I called). I also had another problem with one of my valve covers. Howard explained that he could fix it for me... but he also told me how I could save some money by fixing it myself! It was easy to do... and I saved myself some money. THANK YOU HOWARD! Honest and reasonable is what I have to say about him.

I knew my transmission was toast since my 2003 Corolla has 200k miles and developed a p770 code. I found alot of metal flakes in the transmission pan and it was shifting rough. I explained to Howard that I needed it repaired ASAP. They got the transmission rebuild in 5 business days. The car is running like new! He warranties his work for 1yr or 30k miles. I highly recommend them.
