DO NOT use this shop if you need a strong, clean, or leak-free weld. Omar told me he has 35 years of welding experience, so I hired him to weld a drain plug onto my transmission pan for easier future oil changes. I brought him the pan off the truck, yet he still failed to produce a leak-free weld. Worse, he did not know how to properly test a weld. Instead of using solvent or another appropriate method, he tested it with water, which did not reveal the leak since it’s a thicker liquid. As a result, I discovered the leak immediately after reinstalling the pan — which is a messy labor-intensive job to remove again. To fix his mistake, he reluctuantly agreed to re-weld the pan while it was still on the truck. He did this after making me wait 7 hours and with the condition of me draining the oil myself at his shop. He also didnt warn me that the heat could damage the transmission. The heat from the 15 minutes of welding melted approximately 1.5 feet of plastic wire loom on the internal transmission harness which contaminating and clogged rhe entire transmission system. As a result, my transmission overheated and was destroyed within 20 miles of driving. This was completely avoidable and shows a lack of basic welding practice, testing procedure, and mechanical awareness. I STRONGLY recommend taking your work elsewhere.
