I went here after going to Firestone on bell and 35th. Firestone would not change my oil in my F250 super duty because they didnt have the equipment to lift my truck. This was after making a reservation to have it done. Went to Goodyear Auto on Union Hills and 35th and Lina Was Amazing and helpful. They didnt have a lift big enough for my truck, but the did have Jacks to lift the front. Without hesitation and no questions asked, they changed my oil. I would definitely go here again. I came to get an oil change on a rental. I was told I get expedited service because I’m a ride share driver and I need to get back on the road. It was a weekend so there were only two mechanics and they were working extremely slowly. I get my oil changes done at take 5 because it’s a lot faster but because this is a rental I have to take it to certain locations. So I’m forced to come here. I know it’s a weekend but this is ridiculous. It’s been almost two hours and my car is still not done. And the best part is I’m pacing around by the window because I’m anxious because I need to get back to work. I’m being careful not to stare at the workers, just kind of glancing at the car and pacing, and the woman at the front desk tells me “it makes them nervous when you stare at them” (I wasn’t staring), “how would you like it if we came to your job and started at you?” So I told her I still have to work a lot of hours after this I have bills due today. And she says “it will be done soon, just relax. God will provide anyway, he always does.” Then I told her I have a work shift coming up for another app and if I’m late I lose the whole shift. She could have told the mechanics that I need to get to work so they would know it’s high priority, instead she chose to chastise me like a child and bring religion into it. Part of their contract with the express drive rental program is I’m supposed to get EXPEDITED service. I know it takes longer on weekends, but this was unreasonably long and my main complaint isn’t even about the time so much as how I was treated. Even when I first got here they knew I was here for an expedited rental service and they took forever just getting me checked in. They checked other people in first who came in after me so my car could have been done already, but instead I’m still waiting and getting more and more anxious about missing my shift. I’m five minutes from missing my shift.

The Goodyear location at 35th Ave & Union Hills has been doing the Lyft required maintenance for the Nissan Sentra I have for the past year. I have always received timely service with no issues. Many times, like today, I drop the car off, walk to Sonic for lunch, and it's ready when I get back. They only real delay was getting an approval from Lyft when the amount went over the Lyft pre-authorization for repair/maintenance (new battery & tires) that day I just left overnight and took the bus home and back. I wasn't thrilled but it was ready for pick up right when I got back the next day. Great staff with good personalities, which I appreciate! Thx!

I went in for service yesterday, and it was empty with one employee, didn’t get his name but here’s a description (short, thick—medium brown skin—looks to be Blasian with braids in his hair) sitting at the desk, he glances at me, then keeps typing on the computer. I didn’t interrupt because I know how it feels to be mid-thought and lose it—I figure cars are important, so I waited for him finish. He finished typing, but then didn’t look at me, instead while looking at the computer, he says “Yes?” At this point, I’m confused, because is he on the phone? Is there a minion behind the counter I can’t see that he’s speaking to? No, he was greeting me with a “Yes?” As if I bothered him. I said, “Yes, what?” Then he goes, “what can I do for you?” I didn’t want to be combative, it was Sunday funday—and I thought maybe he’s having a terrible day, so I told him my service request, then took a seat. Ten minutes later, a White (purposeful to my point) woman walks in and he greets her—they actually share a nice little conversation, coupled with some laughs, ending in a “I hope you have a nice day ma’am!” From him. I had to look his way because I thought it was another person, that minion came from under the counter or something, because who she experienced was a completely different person. No, it was him. I realized at that moment that what I was experiencing was racism. The guy brought me my key, by just holding it in front of my face…no, thank you. No have a good day ma’am… just, here. My company has a contract with Goodyear, and I will be letting my higher ups know about my experience as a Black woman visiting midday on Sunday.

It was a quick walk in and very convenient for the day I have been working on my new place. They got me in and out pretty quickly and the staff were very friendly. I rent my car through flex drive which is a third party company of Lyft and with the worry-free protection on my plan I didn't have to pay anything. There are a few of these locations all throughout the valley. I definitely recommend these guys because it's a pretty easy walk-in and it does not take long at all for the most part. In other cases you have to make appointments and jump through hoops and pay fees and the list goes on and on and on and on. I am happy with my experience and hopefully I will continue to rent and be successful with this gig and I will return to the shop in the future for every time I need maintenance done on my rental car.
