Christian Brothers Automotive Buckeye

My partner took our vehicle to Christian Brothers Automotive for a steering wheel vibration and pulling issue. We paid a diagnostic fee expecting an accurate diagnosis and honest repair recommendations. The shop diagnosed the vehicle with bad tires and a failed wheel bearing, recommending approximately $1,300 in repairs. Before approving the work, we got a second opinion from another mechanic. The second mechanic confirmed there was no wheel bearing issue and advised replacing only the tires. After replacing the tires, the vibration and pulling problem was completely resolved. When we questioned the wheel bearing diagnosis, the shop referred us to a video of the tires being rotated and claimed wheel bearing noise could be heard in the recording. Neither we nor the second mechanic could identify any wheel bearing noise in the video. Despite the issue being fully resolved without wheel bearing replacement, the shop refused to refund the diagnostic fee and instead stated they had provided sufficient documentation. We understand mechanics can sometimes have different opinions, but had we approved the original recommendation, we would have spent roughly $1,000 on repairs that ultimately were not needed because the problem was fixed by replacing the tires alone. This experience raised serious concerns for us about unnecessary repairs being added to repair estimates. Paying for a vehicle diagnostic should result in accurate and trustworthy recommendations. Went in for a ac leak, was told they did a full ac diagnosis. Only thing they couldn’t see was the rear evaporator. Ac compressor was confirmed to be bad and needed full repair kit. I agreed. After repairs I was told it was leaking a small leak. Tech admitted to never checking the front evaporator. Just frustrating cause I paid for a full ac diagnostic and did not receive that. I understand that the compressor was leaking but through a full dye test it would’ve still made it through the system and showed a leak through the front evap. I understand the tech needed a 2nd opinion but that opinion was if he checked the front evaporator and he didn’t. I have a 609 and work on semi trucks & motorcoach buses refrigerant systems. I know mistakes can be made but I also know when a full diagnosis wasn’t performed. No point in trying to get your point across with sales trying to defend if I would’ve felt the same if it was the rear that was leaking after repairs. I would have understood if It would’ve cause I still agreed for repairs cause I was told everything else was checked besides that. That was not the case and I still talked down to like if I didn’t know how a ac system or how a dye test works. I heard great things about this place but they should really make sure people are actually doing full diags instead of half work. Extremely disappointing over 3K down the drain.

The Christian Brothers Auto service employees in Buckeye on Yuma are very friendly, courteous and respectful. They are also great communicators and have been well prepared to accentuate customer service. They listen well and have not attempted to sell me something I don't need. They are a little higher priced on some things, but the quality of their service and integrity (so far) are worth it. Extra perks like picking a customer up or bringing them home are nice touches. I have recommended Christian Brothers to others and spoken highly of their service to many others.

They replaced my tires and rotated them properly, fixing an issue that another shop had caused before. You can tell they actually pay attention to the details and make sure the job is done right.
