202 Transmissions

Would not recommend and would avoid at all costs. TLDR; Got my transmission replaced by Ron, worked good for 2-3 months, started leaking, he fixed the leak, then 2 months later transmission failed 100% and Ron refused to fix the transmission which is till under warranty. History/Details: When I got my van back after the initial repair I drove it home and the interior of the van smelled of smoke damage from his smoking habit. Instead of taking smoke breaks he smokes while he works around the cars. I called him back up and asked if he could pay for a detail cleaning. He said no, bring it back and he'll clean it. I did not accept that due to that not being his profession and his obvious lack of smell from smoking. I shrugged it off and paid $300 bucks to get it detailed professionally and left a negative review initially. I then drove it home and checked the levels while hot and noticed the transmission was filled twice as high as it should have been. (see first picture). It should be below 2" at most. He said "I like to over fill my transmission!". Since it was under warranty and he was a transmission repair man I took his word for it despite other professionals online saying it can cause serious damage to the transmission. 2-3 months after the repair I noticed a leak in the transmission after one of my kids slipped and fell from the oil on the ground. So I took it back and told him about it. He said bring it back Monday. So I brought it back and when I showed up his shop was locked with a note on the door saying he was out. Lucky for me there was a nice neighboring mechanic that took it back for me and gave the keys to him on a later day. The next day he tells me its not the transmission leaking and its overflow from the coolant. I had to take time off work and come to his shop to show him it was indeed transmission fluid. Not sure why an experienced mechanic could not figure it out. None the less, he agreed eventually it was a transmission leak after all, and found a lose bolt and fixed the leak after having to figure it out for him. 3-4 Months later the transmission completely failed again. (see 2nd pic of check engine code.) I go to the shop to talk him about it and he said no you missed the 7-10 day window and from when you first told me about. (In which he conveniently never informed me of this rule. Also, this happened over Thanksgiving). It takes time to get a rental setup and to get the money for it and its our main vehicle to transport our kids. So I go to his shop and ask him to show me this 7-10 rule and he then starts to pull out a paper to show me, then starts yelling at me to get out his shop and that I was rude to him and left a bad review and that he doesn't want to help me anymore because I hurt his feelings. So now instead of fixing the transmission under warranty we have to settle in small claims court. Its a real unprofessional location, that seems to not have money to perform warranty work when a complete failure occurs. Given my experience with Ron, he will do anything to get out warranty work and fight not to fix his mistakes. I would recommend gearbox transmission down the street. They cost a little more but are way more professional and offer a 2 year warranty.

Had my transmission rebuilt on 2015 silverado by them about a month ago and I could not be happier, it seems like its driving better then when I bought the truck. Ron was upfront with pricing which was very reasonable. He got back to me quickly whenever I reached out. Had me back about 7 days after the rebuild to check for leaks and there was none and none since then as well.

202 will absolutely be the only transmission shop I use in the future. Quick, exceptionally friendly and very fair! The guys got my old 700r4 shifting as smooth as the 10 speed in my new ford.

I recently had my motor mounts replaced on my 2018 Nissan at 202 Transmission, and I couldn't be more impressed! I dropped off my car at 9 AM when they opened, and by 2 PM, the work was done. Not only did they do excellent work on the motor mounts, but I also noticed that my air conditioner and dash lights were working better when I picked up my car. The service was covered by my warranty, but I found their rates to be very reasonable. They did a fantastic job, and I highly recommend them to anyone in need of reliable, affordable auto repair!
